The Story of the Braingineers

From humble beginnings to global stardom, the Braingineers have carved a unique path in the world of psytrance. The story of Braingineers begins in the heart of Switzerland, where two psychedelic enthusiasts, Fabio and David, crossed paths on a dancefloor. United by a shared passion for mind-bending music, they embarked on a journey that would transform their lives and the psytrance scene forever.

Inspiration and Goa Calling:

Years of DJing and solo projects under their belts, Fabio and David felt the urge to merge their individual styles into a driving, groovy force. Inspired by the pulsating energy of Goa and Forest trance, they decided to take their music to the next level.
Their shared passion and the same stupid sense of humor led them on a pilgrimage to Goa, India. It was there, amidst the sun-kissed beaches and vibrant trance scene, that they played their first Braingineers gig, igniting the spark that would set their
project ablaze.

Studio Alchemy and Global Recognition:

Returning home, brimming with inspiration and renewed determination, Fabio and David transformed their studio into a sonic sanctuary. They meticulously crafted their
unique sound, blending the infectious grooves of Goa trance with the hypnotic rhythms of forest psy. Their debut EP, "Ideomotor Effect" (2020), marked their arrival on the global
psytrance stage. The release propelled them to the top of the charts!

Live Domination and Chart-Topping Albums:
The Braingineers' live performances are legendary, a whirlwind of pulsating energy that leaves audiences mesmerized. They've graced the stages of renowned festivals like Shankra Festival (CH), Gaia Connection Festival (Brazil), the legendary Kitkat
Club (Berlin), and the mind-bending Antaris Project (Berlin), electrifying crowds with their infectious sets.

Their debut album "The Whole Funk (2024) cemented their status as psytrance royalty, topping charts and solidifying their position among the genre's elite. They've collaborated with some of the scene's most celebrated artists, further expanding their
reach and influence.

Shadow Shaman, a South African Night-Psy music producer from Pretoria. He established himself as a psytrance act in the coastal province of Kwa-zulu Natal a few years back and
has since performed at a number of events around Southern Africa including Bumblebee 1st Edition (Goa) , Alien Safari (CPT), Aura (CPT), One Festival (Gauteng) & Our minds Festival (Karoo desert).
He is currently signed to the Slovenian forest power house record label, Forestdelic Records, and has released a full length album as well as an EP. He has released music on many respected international record labels alongside some of his greatest influencers. The music style aims to be somewhat unorthodox & hybridized, Borrowing elements from a wide range of psy genres while still maintaining Shadow Shaman's signature funky flair.

Forest Critters is the DJ collaboration project of two lifelong friends, Joshua Stow and Duncan de Weerd. Having grown up in and around the beautiful Forests and local gatherings of the Garden Route, South Africa, they developed a deep appreciation for the intricate patterns and soothing sounds found within nature. Their intention is to create a safe space for the listener to explore and journey through the deepest parts of themselves. This collaboration is a celebration of the interconnectedness between music and the natural world
Squish-Bone love to get the dancefloor hopping, happy & thriving with bouncy, rocking, filthy & funky tunes. With Courtzy's roots in Prog-Psy & Nic's love and passion for Minimal Tech- their musical styles intercept at a delightful place where their style has ultimately been created. They have started producing their own music- having finished their very first EP.
Courtzy is obsessed with dark, rocking, bouncy prog! She's after deep, driving, soul-penetrating basslines with fierce energy, and just a sprinkle of gangsta! She loves to connect with the dancefloor through her music, and feels it is the biggest blessing to do so!

Hippie Mafia - Daniel Peimer and Joshua Schachat, the Psytrance duo who make up Hippie Mafia, have had an exciting journey since they first discovered the Psychedelic Trance scene in Johannesburg, South Africa back in 2008. In 2010, they launched their night-time full-on act, 'Double Story,' before later deciding to embark on a new venture and create a fresh, original sound.

MRSUb is a seasoned DJ known for electrifying, genre-blending sets that keep crowds moving. With a signature sound of funky basslines, irresistible beats, and creative transitions, MRSUb creates unforgettable musical journeys. From top venues to curated mixes, MRSUb delivers high-energy vibes and pure artistry every time.

Universal Space is Anja Schultze, a psytrance DJ from Johannesburg, South Africa. She entered the psychedelic scene at the end of 2016 and absolutely fell in love with the music, the people, and the community as a whole. The intricate and funky sounds combined with driving baselines are what got her feet moving and her love for this music started to grow.

Filtiarn is The Psychedelic transformation from Progressive Techno sunk its claws into Gavin Els in 2014, and on a cold and dry winter's night, Filtiarn crawled out of South Africa's Foresty city of Gold. Originally from Port Elizabeth, Gavo has over 25 years’ experience in prowling around South Africa's underground and the deep & driving feel seeps into all Filtiarn's dark psychedelic sets.

Paralocks aka Jerry began his psytrance journey in the year of 2007. After experiencing the Cape Town outdoor party scene over the summer of 2006 the longing to better understand and comprehend these frequencies urged him to begin to create his own music. Thus the project Paralocks was born. (Locked with the parallel dimension.)He has been featured on many releases of the most renowned Hitech labels in existence, as well as having a long list of bookings at prestigious events and festivals around the globe.

Killawatt started in 2006 & is the psychedelic trance DJ and production project of Byron Sampson from Cape Town - South Africa. His music ranges from 148 to 160bpm and you can usually find him playing the witching hour slot. His style has glitchy FX with erratic percussion, grooving baselines, bombing atmospheres and thick cut leads to keep the listener enticed.

Solus is the psychedelic trance project of Hanré Kotzé, a skilled musician who grew up in a music school and tried his hand at various instruments before finding his passion for psytrance in 2012. He was inspired by attending numerous festivals and listening to the genre non-stop. In 2017, he learned how to DJ and after performing at his first outdoor music festival, he decided to broaden his horizons and produce the music he loved so much himself. Fast forward to 2021, Solus was signed by the mighty PsynOpticz Records and has since released two Eps and tracks on several compilations between 2021 and 2024.

Profound is a passionate producer and DJ immersed in the vibrant world of psychedelic trance, proudly representing Cape Town, South Africa. With an affinity for all things strange, freaky, and psychedelic, his musical endeavors reflect my diverse tastes within the genre. Profound is also the Founder of State Alchemy Music and has been an active member in the South African Psytrance community. One of his projects, Profound, is dedicated to exploring the groovier side of the psychedelic spectrum, infused with a full-on twist

We unfortunately have some bad news , Kim / Filterheads Had some troubles at the airport as seen in Video above. We are truly heart broken about this and we have tried everything in our power to make this happen but something are just out of our control. But....... On a positive note Kim will be sending us a one of a kind live set with some of his newest creations which we was going to play while here.
