Our Story

BailaAfrika is more than a single dance teacher, a DJ or a dance school...it’s a growing Afro Latino Dance Family with global members.

BailaAfrika's founding members spent years learning Cuban Salsa and Kizomba from some of the most respected teachers whilst they lived in London. Its teaching style focuses on the appreciation of dance origins, histories and cultures, and the power of connection to dance across boundaries. Its passionate skilled teaching team proudly identify as lifelong students with former BailaAfrika students also teaching at other schools. The teacher team really are just passionate social dancers on a mission to improve the dance level in South Africa.

BailaAfrika regularly hosts local and international specialists in African and Afro Latin dances to grow and up-skill the community. Although considered the pioneers of the Kizomba scene in South Africa, having introduced lessons, socials and parties in 2012 outside of PALOP private functions, it's equally passionate about all things Cuban Salsa and proud of its African roots!

BailaAfrika are very committed to giving back and to spreading the love through dance as it spreads its love of dance.
