Monday - Started the week with a productive trip to Camerastuff, where I enhanced my photography kit with the Godox WEC 2 microphone system and a new Godox 120cm Octobox. These additions promise to elevate my audio and lighting game significantly. Check them out:

Tuesday - Spent the day diving into the world of pixels and frames, meticulously editing a batch of images. It’s always about refining those perfect shots.

Wednesday and Thursday - Had the privilege of attending the AI Expo at the Sandton Convention Center. I captured a series of compelling images and videos for a fantastic UK-based client, Mavin Global. Their innovative containerized data centres are truly cutting-edge. More about their work here.

Thursday Evening - Joined an inspiring networking session with Boss Babes, where I had the chance to capture the radiance and ambition of some truly incredible women through my lens.

Friday and Saturday Afternoon - Ended the week on a high note, guiding two groups on a memorable journey to experience the beauty of South Africa’s wildlife. Spending afternoons with the magnificent rhinos reminded me just how blessed we are to call this country home.

Quite the week, filled with creativity, innovation, and the natural splendor of South Africa!

This week, I’m hosting an off-road Motorsport Photography workshop that promises to be action-packed.

Friday Night: We'll kick off with a theory session via Zoom, delving into the techniques and tips essential for capturing dynamic motorsport shots.

Saturday: We hit the dirt in Bronkhorstspruit for a hands-on session, putting theory into practice by capturing the thrilling action of off-road motorsports.

For R700 per person, participants will receive not just the workshop experience but also a comprehensive workbook and a post-event editing session to refine their shots.

This is one of my favorite images of all time.

I just love the how the chess players are deeply focused on their game amidst the bustling surroundings creates a beautiful contrast. It feels like a moment of calm and concentration in the middle of a busy world. Long exposure really highlights the stillness of the players compared to the motion blur of the people around them.

AVIATION - The most tricky element in capturing planes is ensuring you have movement on the props... each plane/ helicopter may have a different shutter speed to show said movement...
HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT SHUTTER SPEED TO USE?

THE RHINO EXPERIENCE - Poaching is still very much a massive problem, One day(I truly hope I am wrong) we simply may not have these gorgeous animals to photograph.
HOW DO YOU CREATE EMOTION EVOKING WILDLIFE IMAGES?

MOTOCROSS - Dust, mud, bikes flying past, adrenaline, speed.

What do I do???

As you may have noticed my social media is a little bit of everything... wildlife to traveling, portraits to race cars and a fair amount of Rhino's.

So I get the question a fair amount - What do I do full time?

It's simple - I am a full time photographer and videographer with an interest in well.... everything...

Which can sometimes be a little confusing for clients.

So I generally break it down into 3 sides of my business

1. I am a portrait photographer, so anything from Matric dances, engagement shoots to corporate head shots and personal branding shoots.

How do you create an image like this???

This is called Panning.

Panning is all about having a low enough shutter speed and moving with the car to create the feeling of speed.

It takes the right camera settings as well as lots of practice.

Cape Townians... in just 4 days I will be heading to you...

I am super excited, even if the weather is.... Meh.

While I am in Cape Town I will not only be offering photoshoots but also be hosting two photographic workshops.

The first one will be a photographic outing to , a true lion sanctuary, on the 3rd of August. The cost is R580 per person and this includes entrance into the park and photographic guidance, specifically when it comes to shooting through fences.

Then I will be hosting a Motorsport photography workshop on the 10th of August at Killarney Raceway. This will cost you R1000 per person and includes an online theory session. workbook, Guidance on the day as well as an online session after the event chatting about editing your racing images.
