South African Tourism Appoints Corne Koch as Chief Convention Bureau Officer.

South African Tourism (SA Tourism) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Corne Koch as its new Chief Convention Bureau Officer, effective 1 December 2025.

Corne brings nearly 20 years of experience in destination marketing and business tourism. In her most recent role, she led the Cape Town & Western Cape Convention Bureau at Wesgro. South Africa.

In her new role, she will head the South African National Convention Bureau (SANCB), a strategic business unit focused on positioning South Africa as a leading MICE destination.

Under her leadership, SANCB will continue attracting and securing high-value meetings, conferences, and incentives.

SA Tourism’s Acting CEO, Darryl Erasmus, highlighted that Corne’s appointment comes at a crucial moment, with major events like Meetings Africa 2026 and Africa’s Travel Indaba on the horizon.
