Discover Uganda .... A hidden gem

Gorilla trekking, chimp tracking & other over border tours. No kids under 15 on the 3 hour hike to see gorillas. 5 hours by road or 35 mins additional flight to the airstrip from the international airport
A bucket list dream, although quite expensive when you add up all the costs of the visa, tour, permits, hotel and flights. The 15 Tour Operators that we met today makes for slightly competitive tailor made packages. Prices are in dollars with SA citizens paying $500 as opposed to $800 💵 for their permits
Flights are daily with am and pm departure / arrivals. Air Uganda has a codeshare with Qatar plus there are another 4 operators

Dedicated meeting room for 6 people without a squash. Chairs could be more comfy for a full day meeting however, each to their own
Staff are super friendly, helpful & know their property well
Rooms are spacious, tea / coffee stations & honesty bars are available all day long
Lots of interesting art / pieces in all areas
Koi seem well looked after & are huge !

Club Med coming North of Ballito....
𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗿!
South Africa’s largest hospitality project in 30 years, promises to boost tourism and local economy, create jobs, and showcase the country’s natural beauty and culture while prioritising sustainability.

The quiet beach town of Tinley Manor Beach, located just 17 km from Ballito, is set for a major transformation with a R2bn beach resort development just north of Tinley Manor Beach. The 32ha beachfront site, purchased by Collins Residential from Tongaat Hulett will soon host the luxury Club Med SA resort, their first resort in Southern Africa.

At a signing event at Umhlanga’s Oyster Box Hotel, Murray Collins of Collins Residential confirmed that the investment value has risen beyond R2bn. The project, originally cited at R1.6bn by Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN) in 2021, is now well underway and expected to open in July 2026.
Construction is moving rapidly, focusing on three main components:

𝟭. 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The hotel, with 345 rooms, is already progressing, and the resort center, family area, and sports facilities are taking shape, offering a comprehensive guest experience.

𝟮. 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘀: Work has begun on 66 luxury villas overlooking the estuary.

𝟯. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Groundwork is underway for a 500-delegate conference center and parking area, designed to maintain a vehicle-free zone for guest safety.

Over 1,200 workers will be employed at peak construction, with much of the labor sourced locally to ensure community involvement.

The resort will provide a unique blend of beachside relaxation and safari adventures, featuring activities such as sailing, surfing, diving, and the first-ever Club Med surf school. Guests can also enjoy a wellness retreat, including a spa, yoga school, and adult-only Zen pool.

In addition, there will be a shopping experience, gourmet dining, and live entertainment throughout the day and evening.

For an added adventure, guests will in the near future also be able to stay at Club Med's Big-5 game reserve just 3.5 hours away, or 40 minutes by flight, combining beach and bush experiences.

A key aspect of this development is the collaboration between Club Med and Agrisud International, aimed at promoting local businesses and fostering sustainable livelihoods within the community
