Budhu
Budhu (Monoj Budhu) has been DJing since 1996. He is a well known figure in the local KZN ubderground dance scene best known for being a founding member of "Lapis Lazuli Productions" and for pioneering the progressive house scene in KZN in the late 90s, early 2000s.
He has been a permanent fixture on most left of centre evnts including the legendary NONONO parties, the AmaDeadlyProductions outdoor stompers, Uber Cool Dance Valley, Splashy Fen 2012/2013, Psyforia, Lightworx, and Urban Tribe outdoor events. The most recent events include Unyaka NYE 2018, Cosmic Community, Connexion, Elysium, EartdanceKZN, Gasmic Gathering, Butterfly Effect and Indiginous Frequency to name a few.
Budhu has been the host of a monthly webcast called "Budhuism and the Art Of MixZen" which was streamed online on www.sensationsradio.fm.
He has also featured on Proton radio as a guest DJ on a show called Morphosis hosted by DJ Ashal. When asked about a DJing highlight..."That's easy! It was hosting and opening for the legendary Nigel Dawson (Renaissance UK) at the iconic 3-30 Point Rd".
Budhu's DJ style is versatile ranging from minimal to techno to prog to trance, "whatever suites the mood". Currently Budhu is a resident DJ/Founder of Smiling Buddha Productions of Sunday Sun-Sets fame!
