Bella's 2024 Comrades Marathon Prize-Giving Ceremony
The Bella's Athletics Club held its Comrades Marathon prize-giving ceremony on 13 July 2024 at Halls Farm at 14:00. The event saw a large turnout from members, guests, and the media, with all local radio stations represented. The presence of Athletics Mpumalanga President Mr. Paul Bester and Ms. Joanita Bester, an AMPU Board member, added to the prestige of the occasion.
The programme director, Mr. Differ Mogale, skillfully guided the event, while Team Manager Sly Khoapa ensured everything ran smoothly. The proceedings included heartfelt stories from club members about their Comrades Marathon journeys, highlighting both the challenges and triumphs they experienced. Notable stories included those of Mr. Shuffle and Dr. Lucas Ndlovu, underscoring why the Comrades Marathon is deemed the ultimate human race.
A particularly moving segment recognized those who lost loved ones shortly before the marathon but still completed the race. Supporters of Bella's Comrades athletes were honored with holiday vouchers and other prizes. Vince "Slay Queen" Sgauke and Chief Coordinator Tshiamo Koma shared insights into the critical role of the support team, emphasizing their importance in the runners' success.
The event also featured the awarding of prize money and trophies to top achievers, encouraging and thanking them for their exceptional performances.

The event concluded with food and beverages served in true Bella's fashion, with celebrations continuing late into the evening.
