Dear Newcastle Pride community

Firstly, we would like to thank everyone that has already purchased tickets for our 2nd Annual Pride picnic that will be happening on the 23rd of November 2024 at Amajuba Stadium.

We would like to rectify a few of the issues that have been raised by certain members within our community.

A statement was released early this year pointing out that the parade will be open to everyone at no cost, but due to Newcastle Pride being non-funded, unfortunately we will have to charge an entrance fee, which will help cover pride costs such as security, sound, etc., as we want this to be an eventful pride.

For safety reasons no one will be allowed to sit outside the stadium after the parade.

Newcastle Municipality was approached early this year and last year to support Newcastle Pride, but unfortunately we received no assistance from them.

We would also like to clarify that Pride is a family event, meaning all age groups are allowed to attend it.

Please do note that the other national prides that we are being compared to are

1. Funded by their local municipalities

2. They don't allow people to come in with their own drinks and food.

3. They host pre-pride events with cover charges.

To the LGBTQIA allies, your support in making this year pride will be appreciated.
