Did you know that the tradition of the bride standing on the left side of the groom during the wedding ceremony dates back to medieval times? The groom would then have his right hand free to defend the bride in case any rivals tried to steal her away. This tradition has continued through the years and is still widely practiced in weddings today. Pretty interesting, right?
