My mother has a creative flare and always made an effort to grow a garden and fill our farm house with whatever was available in that region. This interest also lead me to gardening, and for many years I opened my garden to the public for the annual Natal Show Gardens. I have been doing flower arranging now for many years, from school functions, balls, events and of course, weddings. Because of my
passion, this has always been something I've done out of love, but my daughters have convinced me to now make this official. I'm extremely excited to be passing my knowledge, skill and passion on to my eldest daughter- Kate, who will be working alongside me in the future. I love to work with various textures and a wide range of flower material in order to create something spectacular. I enjoy meeting with brides to discuss their ideas and together we brainstorm to create their perfect day. Each bride has such different ideas, ranging from minimalistic succulent type arrangements to colourful country bunches. Others prefer berries and grasses or trees and aloes. The flowers and decor very often reflect the couples style and personality, this is what keeps it so interesting. Flowers bring life to any event and it brings me great joy to create a unique "look" for each special occasion. I believe that it is important to stay up-beat with new trends and styles yet simplicity is often more effective and timeless.
