It’s great at absorbing carbon dioxide, more than many other plants. It also doesn’t need much water and can survive in tough conditions like droughts, making it perfect for restoring damaged land. Spekboom has a unique way of photosynthesizing at night to save water. Its leaves are edible, have a tangy taste, and are even used by local people for medicinal purposes and to quench thirst. Elephants love to eat it, but the plant grows back, making it tough and resilient!
