Greenjeans Organics THE GREENJEANS SAGA

Greenjeans Organics was just a name behind an idea. An idea that believed we could all make a difference through the choices we make.

We are a sustainable,small-scale agricultural farm which produces Protea cutflowers, fruit trees&honey

We do personalized flowers for weddings, special occasions & events It was then that my wife and I decided that if living with a more conscious way to life was a possibility then that was worth us pursuing. The idea was simple, to grow, learn and share a lifestyle that encourages sustainable agri

cultural values from the food we grow to how we interact with our surrounding environment. We began our self sustaining journey in 2013 seeking to engage country living with open minds eager to learn. No joyous story however is without it's woes and we soon realized the true meaning of the commitment we had made. Like many before us we started from the ground up and with continuous support our business, Greenjeans Organics began to germinate. Through trial and error along with one hardship to the next our passion endured as we grew closer to the land with each passing year. Then one day we found our true roots lay within the propagation and sourcing of fruit trees. Through this practice we realized we could be tree contributing stewards by growing more trees while providing food cultivation at the same time. Hard work and dedication soon led to new beginnings and as we learnt so Greenjeans Organics grew. In 2018 we moved to a new, larger location situated on the foothills of a mountainous, fynbos landscape where more opportunities for expansion awaited. It was in 2019 that we took our first steps in rehabilitating a forgotten area of forgotten Protea field which led Greenjeans Organics into the world of the cut flower trade. Through faith, endless research and the determination to learn more about our unique, indigenous surroundings we continued our sustainable practices in the specialized area of agriculture on a small scale where we currently supply the local market with blooming success to date. We provide uniquely made bunches personalized according to season from flowers both cultivated and sustainably harvested on the farm and from the mountains following the BEK fynbos guide for sustainable cut flower harvesting. By embodying our vision of living closely with the land we have witnessed countless times the magical effects of biodiversity demonstrated by so many species. One species in particular that inspired Greenjeans Organics to branch our further in our efforts to preserve and conserve our environment was the humble Cape Honey Bee. During the course of our expansion to greener mountains in 2018 we began bee keeping pilot projects and by 2020 Greenjeans Organics needed no further convincing that producing quality, natural, raw honey tied in directly with our love fro sustainable agriculture. As our farming business continues to grow so do our hopes and dreams for the future. One thing is for certain though and that is that our passion and dedication toward our ongoing stewardship with our natural surroundings will always remain our top priority. Bright, happy and sentimental!

This bride wanted something unique, colourful and beautiful with one sunflower representing someone very special ♡
We had so much fun putting this bridal bouquet together, with matching buttonhole.

Congratulations to the beautiful wedding couple, Mieke and Quinton! It was an absolute honor to do the floral decor for this special occasion.

It's always such a joy seeing it all come together after months of envisioning, planning and conversing. The bride had a unique vision of hues of green and tiny splashes of white. We loved working with the bride and her mother in making their big day come to life.

The first taste of the spring harvest to come... eek!
Predominantly Fynbos and field flowers with a unique taste that will definitely leave you wanting more.

How's that colour, hey?! The colour of honey depends on the flowers that they collect pollen from and how long the honey has ripened inside the hive.

We pride ourselves in sustainable harvesting, only taking a few frames from each hive at a time. We only harvest on planned seasonal intervals. Our honey is 100% Raw, unheated, untreated and badger-friendly. Pure natural goodness!

The sweetest little bananas ever!! Finally ripening after the cold winter. Woohoo!

Lady Finger Banana trees are easy growers that enjoy full sun and can endure the wind. They love a good watering and well-mixed soil with good drainage.

The fruit is smaller than usual bananas and a lot sweeter. They do well in fresh dishes as they don't brown after being cut.

Definitely one of our favorite trees in our nursery!

Greenjeans Organics was just a name behind an idea, an idea that we could all make a difference through the choices we make. My wife and I decided that living with a more conscious approach to life was a necessity worth pursuing. Every now and then I think to myself, why on this green earth do I continue to pour my heart and soul into flower farming? It's definitely not the easiest form of agriculture and the daily demands on ones body, spirit and lifestyle really do take its toll on my wife and I as a farming family. Then after every special occassion that we have the privilege of catering for it hits me...We simply love what we do and when we see the joy our produce brings to folks who have entrusted us with their special days it reminds me that its an absolute honor to be part of this unique & specialized industry. We get to share a part of ourselves and our passion with folks from all walks of life and besides it paying the bills it truly shows us that if you believe enough in your dreams, nothing is impossible..

Thanks to everyone who believes in us too and thank you to this land that we reside on, for we truly do love you so dearly..
