CALL TO ACTION: "My name is Lee Siba Most of you know me through my volunteer work as an activist for Trans rights; I serve on the board for Gender Dynamix in Cape Town and I am the founder of the various LGBTI Beauty Pageants in Daveyton. My work has always been in the interest of building my community and raising awareness to our issues, our joys, our triumphs and our collective love and struggles. Unfortunately, in the last few years my health has deteriorated and due to my positionality, access to health services has been restricted for various reasons - which is why I am posting this. In August last year, my leg was amputated due to health complications. This was a very hard time for me as I was supposed to start with chemotherapy for Kaposi’s Sarcoma - Karposi’s Sarcoma is a cancer that causes patches of abnormal tissue to grow under the skin, in the lining of the mouth, nose, and throat, in lymph nodes, or in other organs. I was first diagnosed in 2017 and the cancer has now advanced to a stage where I urgently need chemotherapy. Due to the wound from my leg amputation, I could not start with chemotherapy at the required time. My wound has finally healed and I am happy to announce that yesterday, I went for my first session of chemotherapy at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. This time has been very trying for both my family and I. It is not easy to ask for assistance from the public, but I am here, humbly asking for assistance from the broader LGBTQI community and members of the general public as I continue my chemotherapy and navigate life as a wheelchair user. Although I would appreciate any form of assistance, my specific needs are as follows: R 5 000 a month for my travels to and from my house in Daveyton and Johannesburg Central – a return trip costs R 1000 and I would need to go 5 times a month. Due to the fact that I am a wheelchair user there are a few very necessary renovations needed for my home to improve m
