How to register to become a Member?

Only composers, authors, and publishers can register with SAMRO.

To register your works, you would have to do the following.

Visit our website at www. samro.org.za click on the MUSIC CREATOR LINK and not MUSIC USER, fill in the online application forms and attach your Identity Document (Note: If you have a smart ID (card), you will need to upload both sides of your ID).

For Publishers company registration documents, ID copies of all directors, and agreements between the publisher and the composer are required.

Once your application has been received and processed, SAMRO will send you an email of confirmation that you are now a Prospect Member (Applicant).

As and when you create new music, you can notify SAMRO of your new works. This means that you update SAMRO of your new musical works.

In addition, eligibility to be elected as a SAMRO Associate Member depends on whether your musical works have been broadcast or played in public, for example on licensed radio stations, licensed TV stations, and licensed live venues such as restaurants, clubs, and shopping malls.
