A cool R6.16 billion paid for a da Vinci painting by the Abu Dhabi Louvre!

"The rediscovered Leonardo da Vinci painting, Salvator Mundi, has been acquired by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism.
The 500-year-old masterpiece, which sold earlier this year for $450m (R6,15bn), will go on display at Louvre Abu Dhabi alongside another da Vinci work, La Belle Ferronnière, which is currently on loan from the Louvre.
“Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece Salvator Mundi fits perfectly into the narrative of Louvre Abu Dhabi,” the museum’s director, Manuel Rabate, said. “It will be on display alongside our growing collection, and will be an exceptional treasure that no doubt will be enjoyed by all our visitors.”
Louvre Abu Dhabi is on Sadiyaat Island and is home to works from all over the world. Along with 23 permanent galleries and temporary exhibition space, there is also a Children’s Museum, numerous restaurants and a research centre."

Cutty Sark Hotel acquired by Premier Hotels & Resorts!

Premier Hotels & Resorts has acquired the Cutty Sark Hotel in Scottburgh, KwaZulu Natal.
The property will undergo a R150m renovation from the middle of next year, following an environmental study.
The hotel will be expanded from 56 to 150 rooms and will advance to four-star status.
Samuel Nassimov, Premier Hotels & Resorts’ founder and md, says: “We have big and exciting plans to maximise this property’s potential.
