Bistro Ladies is the creation of June and Marlene, 2 avid “foodies” who reside in Kloof, Durban. The idea is to produce healthy, tasty meals, which are frozen at source that can effortlessly be defrosted, warmed up and enjoyed when the need arises. These meals come in very handy for busy people as well as those who are unable to cook for themselves, i.e convalescents and disabled people. So far

the customer base has stretched as far as Gauteng, who purchase meals as gifts for friends and family in the Durban area. The style of cooking as the name suggests is bistro type meals reminiscent of the retro era with a few modern tweaks here and there. Bistro Ladies use only quality, fresh produce which is lovingly prepared and then frozen in microwaveable containers. Stock Meals are packed in quantities to feed 2 generously. However this can be changed according to individual needs if requested. We will also do large quantities for parties – prices quoted on request. Delivery free of charge in the upper and lower Highway area. Deliveries further a field will be charged a nominal service fee to cover fuel costs.

Our Story

Bistro Ladies is the creation of June and Marlene, 2 passionate and avid “foodies” who reside in Kloof, Durban. Their idea being to produce healthy, tasty food, and frozen or ready meals for busy people and those who are unable to cook for themselves (convalescents, disabled, elderly).

The style of cooking as the name suggests is bistro type meals reminiscent of the retro era with a few modern tweaks here and there. Sometimes traditional ingredients are swopped for more modern ones. Sometimes different cooking processes are used for a more varied flavour profile. Whatever they do the food is and must always be delicious and appetizing. Bistro Ladies use only quality, fresh produce which is lovingly and hygienically prepared. They also do catering and large quantities for parties – prices quoted on request. Delivery free of charge in the upper and lower Highway area.

UPDATE

JUNE sadly passed away in March 2017 after a serious illness. In the time that followed Marlene put all her time and efforts into emersing herself with food matters, knowledge and trends. She studied at The Jackie Cameron School of Food and Wine from January to August 2018. She passed her City and Guilds cheffing diplomas with distinction.
