BUCKLANDS GUEST FARM is a 5th generation Horn family farm, in the Steytlerville district, Eastern Cape, South Africa. The farm lies in the south eastern corner of the Great Karoo, bordering the Kamdeboo on our north, and the Baviaans Kloof, on our south. The area is of great ecological importance, as it is home to about 7000 plant species, incorporating 5 plant biomes. It is also home to some of t
he last remaining Cape Mountain Leopards, and the pristine beauty is further enriched by remnants of prehistoric history, Khoisan paintings and artefacts, and some colonial history. Bucklands is a working sheep farm, but we frequently host various adventure sport events under the name of Buckaroo Adventure Sports, which has it’s own page on this website. So, opportunities for a visit are endless; you can come to rest and relax in one of 3 chalets and some camps, or hike the amazing Groot Rivier Poort Hiking Trail over 2 to 5 days, come play on the 4x4 courses, bring your mountain bike to explore or do the fast growing Cockscomb Classic MTB. We also host weddings, corporate events, year end functions and parties of almost any kind. Please explore the website for more, and come visit or contact us for any information you may need.

The Freedom Challenge Race Across South Africa is in full swing on Bucklands. But it is cold, wet and very, very tough!
Photos taken on my late afternoon walk on the farm. It was freezing cold, but awesome! It just rained, and everything was crisp and clean! Truly food for your soul!
Sunrise this morning on the farm! So thankful Hubby woke me up with: "If you want to see a beautiful sunrise, you better get up quickly!" Well I jumped out of bed just in time for this show!

A wonderful day on the farm.
Hubby made breakfast, Rinie and I painted (jip, I just had to show her how to paint with ink, bleach and pastels). We walked, talked, laughed, shared some wonderful meals, and I found some beautiful alloes.
It was such soul filling day.

After 9 hours of waiting for the river to let is through! A wonderful day spending time resting, playing games, spending precious time with family and friends...and making new friends! Oh and eating and drinking and be merry!
