It's less than 2 weeks away before South Africa's adventure racers will take on the Adventure Racing World Series - Africa Series Regional Championship of 2022!

The distances for the two races so far:
+ 60km adventure race: 36km’s of mountain biking, 17.7km’s of trekking and 9.14km’s of kayaking

The Seventh Vasbyt Adventure Race will be in the Drakensberg on the 16 – 21 March 2023 (long weekend).

The Vasbyt 100hr Expedition Race event will have a winning time of 65-70 hours (excl sleep time) with a race cut off of 100 hours and will be ideal preparation for the upcoming AR World Championships organised by Expedition Africa and scheduled for October 2023 in the Eastern Cape.

The event will including Packrafting legs - a first in South Africa (Pack rafts can be rented from the organiser and will be made available to teams 4 weeks prior to the event).

Event limited to 10 teams - only 5 spots left.

Final Race in the South African Adventure 1 Series

The DSV Cyanosis Adventure Race will take place in the Tugela Valley of KwaZulu Natal in October 2019. Team of 2 or 4 will trek, cycle, kayak and navigate their way through this remote landscape starting at the Zingela Safaris camp.

No Frills. No Fuss. Adventure Race happens annually and this year we will take racers through the beautiful mountain wilderness of the Cederberg!

The 36hr race is aimed at the seasoned campaigners and teams wanting to step up to the challenge of going through the night, with participants being challenged navigationally, mentally and physically.

The 12hr will be a good test for those newbies wanting to challenge themselves and grow as a team.

The 6hr is specifically aimed at families and newly formed teams - or old teams looking for less of a challenge. It will be a bucket loads of fun type of race.

The winners of the A1 series wins an entry to GODZONE. Due to very tough conditions, there was no full course finishers in the first two A1 races this year - so there is everything to race for*!

*series points are for 36hr entrants only.

ADVENTURE WORLD SERIES AFRICA REGIONAL FINAL – CLOCOLAN 5 NOVEMBER 2022.

The fifth and final leg of the Adventure Racing World Series - Africa Series www.arworldseries.com– Africa Regional Series will take place on the weekend 5 -7 November 2022.

This event will also be the ARWS Africa Regional 2022 final.

Two distances will be on offer at this event, the 120km distance event and a 60km event. Teams who do not want to race during the night or are starting their AR journey can enter the shorter distance if they are unsure of conquering the 120km event.

IMLA Guest Farm (www.imlafarm.co.za), situated in the scenic Eastern Free State will be the host of this prestigious event. This guest farm aims to be associated with raising living standards, economic growth, and social cultural enhancement of rural areas.

They are driven by the strong demand for family orientated recreational activities and offer local food and authentic farm stay experiences. Four legs of the ARWS Africa Regional Series have now taken place and all the best adventure racing teams in South Africa are currently preparing for the final event in Clocolan, Free State.

Teams who have qualified for a free entry for the ARWS Africa Regional 2022 final is as follows:
1. Team Merrell Songlines – Winner Swellendam
2. Team Slowvelders – Second place Wakkerstroom
3. Team Danger Zone – Second place Merrell Transkei Tuff
4. Team Terramater – Third place Garden Route

The leading mixed team of four at the conclusion of the final event will be named the South African Adventure Racing Champions.
A free entry for the Adventure Racing World Championship 2023 hosted in the Eastern Cape, South Africa will be up for grabs for the winner of the Africa Series.
