A lot of people have asked me what it's like inside the show aquarium, so here's a video behind the scenes!
This is what the inside of the aquarium tank looks like, a tight space with a narrow grid to sit on, and very low light!
We work with 4 mermaids and a safety diver!
Only 2 mermaids are allowed in the water, and we shower first to remove all make up and lotions.
The water is heated and salty, but we can't see very well without goggles.
We also can't see or hear the outside world at all, and even though the glass looks like a mirror on the inside we don't see our reflections either. Swimming straight into the glass is a thing! 🤣
We have to be mindful of the platform and the overhead lights when we come up, so we usually float up slowly with our arms overhead because we can't see what is above the water either.
It can be a bit unnerving the first time diving into a glass tank from 5m up, but after a few minutes we all love it!
Our mermaid friends all watch out for us from above and shield us from any overhead obstacles. We have each other's backs and it's a lot of fun to work together 💙

We are all PADI qualified mermaids, we know how to revive each other (just in case) and how to equalise so we don't burst out ear drums. We have been practicing tricks for years, it's so important to be comfortable among the coral obstacles, and let's not forget the Moray Eel!

I had the most beautiful dolphin encounter with my friend @Courtney Ward at Halo Gaia Adventure Travel
These wild dolphins were so curious about me in my mermaid tail, several of them swam right up to me with their twinkling eyes and joyous hearts 💙💦
This encounter was completely on their terms, and we allowed them to approach us as they felt comfortable.
