The truth is our area is so rich with different arrays of accommodation options. From 5 star hotels to self-catering farm stays to beautiful BnBs. It is impossible to name all of them.

We suggest that wedding goers and parties search on airbnb, booking.com and other platforms for the following areas;

A Little Bit About Carol

The Venue at Fairview's co-owner & venue manager🌿

"My story...

I grew up in a small town called Dordrecht in the Eastern Cape and met my husband, Reimar, when I was doing my nurse’s training at Grey’s Hospital in Pietermaritzburg.

I moved to the farm in Winterton when Reimar and I got married in 1990. We were blessed with four children, but sadly lost our second eldest daughter, Melissa in 2020. But we are very lucky to have our sons, Dale and Shaun on the farm with us now and our daughter, Kelsey and her family, living on our doorstep in Winterton.

Running the venue at first was quite a daunting task, I have had to learn to be a bit more tech savvy. But it is such a joyous task to show newly engaged couples around the venue and share in all their plans for their big day. "

Our Story...✨

In 2020, we purchased the farm Fairview. Sadly, around the same time we lost out daughter, Melissa when she had a fatal horse-riding accident. She had been working as a wedding co-ordinator in the Cape for several years and was about to return home.

On Fairview Farm, the previous owner, Mark, had landscaped a lovely scenic area overlooking his dam where his 4 daughters got married. So when our eldest daughter was getting married the following year, after realising how expensive it is to hire a dance floor, we threw a concrete slab in the same area and erected a marquee for her wedding.

18 months later when our son got engaged and also decided to get married on the farm, we made the decision to build a venue in memory of our daughter as her legacy to our family.

It brings us great joy to share the beauty of the venue with all who decide to celebrate their special occasions there. ✨
