❄️❄️ TROPICAL PLANTS - WINTER (Cold) SEASON CARE TIPS*
You may have noticed that in the last two weeks, your lovely plants may not looking too great. This is because of the recent cold weather that we have been experiencing in Zambia.
All House plants we supply are from Tropical Hot climates. Our recent extreme cold weather in Zambia is impacting alot of Tropical plants of any type and species.
We are following simple rules to ensure our plants suffer minimal stress.
To ensure your House plants don't suffer leaf loss, leaf burn, Root Rot or worse, please do the following:
1. Keep all Tropical House Plants indoors from 16hrs to 9am
2. Leave them out in indirect Sun to soak in some warmth and Sunlight during sunny/Warm times of the day.
*Please don't again leave them in direct Sun...that will burn them!!!!!!*
3. Don't cut any drying up leaves. These will dry out and fall off naturally, on thier own, giving way for new healthy leaf shoots.
4. *Don't water your plants more than once a week* In fact, your plants can last for 2 weeks without watering.
Too much/excess water in your plants in this cold weather will stay wet in the pot for along time and cause roots to rot.
5. If your plant appear to be drying out, please take it out of the potting soil...examine the roots.
Healthy roots are firm and white in colour.
Rotting roots are brownish in colour, jelly like or soft. You can easily spot that your roots are at rotting.
Remove/cut off all rotting roots. Disinfect plant roots and repot plant in new clean disinfected soil.
