More calls for enhanced trade..
By Buttyson Kandimba

NORTH-WESTERN Province principal planner Christopher Bwalya has called on government to expedite the construction of one-stop-boarder facilities at Jimbe, Kipushi and Kamapanda boarder posts in the province.

Mr Bwalya said the three boarder posts are not only critical in enhancing revenue generation for the country but will help accelerate trade between Zambia and Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

"With the good will that is there with the current government, there is need to leverage on that to change the social and economic landscape of the province," Mr Bwalya said.

He said this when the Ministry of Information and Media director spokesperson Thabo Kawana visited the North-Western Province exhibition stand at the ongoing Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Ndola.

Mr Bwalya said the province is endowed with abundant natural resources which needs to be fully exploited to transform the region.
He said there is need to set up manufacturing companies to add value to the natural resources that the province is endowed with.

"There is need for us now to have strategic investments coming into the province," Mr Bwalya said.

He also said there is need to work on economic roads in the province to attract investments in various sectors like agriculture, mining, manufacturing and tourism among others through partnerships.
Mr Bwalya also said the agriculture potential in North-Western Province is unmatched.

And Mr Kawana said there is need to unlock the agriculture potential in the province to enhance agriculture production to meet the demand for agriculture produce in the neighbouring countries.

He said there is need to put up infrastructure like good road network to support agriculture production and productivity in the province.
