Of the many #plantabillion tree posts we make, what's new about this tree post? Well, if you look at the pictures very closely, you will see that the trees have different stages of fruiting ON ONE TREE, AT THE SAME TIME. You have buds, flowers, small, medium size and large ripening fruit ALL ON ONE TREE, AT THE SAME TIME.

The plan, as always, has been to harvest both from ON the trees, and from UNDER the trees. It's called the art of maximising on whatever resources you can lay your hands off - an art informed by solid agricultural science around companion planting, crop rotations, crop water requirements and irrigation principles.
You can also do this during the rainy season where no irrigation systems exist.

Current settings: Niasha Gardens in winter... where you can experience summer in winter
Gardening notes: Our duranta is going all deciduous on us, especially in the shady areas. It will get dense again once the sun goes stronger.
Our lawns have largely held up under the low temperatures - we are now bracing ourselves for potential early morning frosts in late July but not mowing it too often.
Did we mention, plenty of sunbasking spots for a lovely day out in the garden? We are know it's brown all around, but we caught summer in a bottle. We are looking forward to your visit
