Happy Monday, here's hoping that your day is going on well.

As people are registering and some still thinking if they should attend the speed dating event on the 19th of November Speed dating night, here are some TIPs that might help you prepare for it. We know that to many this is something new and we want to make it less nerve wrecking and more on the fun side.

1. Have some questions ready-It is a good idea to try to ask questions that will make you stand out. You want to show your date that you're a unique person. The questions should also be based on what you feel you would like to know about your date because they will determine what you think of them.

2. Honesty is the best policy-The best thing you can do for yourself and your date is to be yourself and have an honest conversation. Let them like you for who you are. Do not pretend, it's hard to keep up with the fake you.

3. Dress comfortably-Some speed dating events might have dress codes but it is always important to wear something that you feel comfy in. That way you will be more relaxed and you will spend less time worrying about if you are wearing the right outfit or not.

4. Be engaged-It is always good to stay engaged during the date because there is nothing worse than coming across to your date as being uninterested. Give your date a chance, chat with them and just relax.

5 .Breaking the ice- Starting with an ice breaker helps the both of you ease into the conversation. If you are going to use a joke, please try to make one that will not offend them in anyway. Making use of compliments also works, such as I like your dress, perfume, shirt etc.

7. Scratch beyond the surface-By this we mean, try to have a deeper conversation other than just the simple interests because there might be more there than what you both may think.

Good morning fam! So we have been getting messages and calls from people asking what exactly is speed dating. So here goes!

What is it?
Speed dating is all about meeting new people in a relaxed and friendly environment.
There are different types of speed dating events but at the end of the day the goal is the same.

How does it work?
The participants are given a few minutes, usually between 3-8 minutes, to chat with a person, each lady gets a chance to speak to each guy and vice versa. The ladies in most instances remain at their tables/seats and the men move from one table to the next.

Each person will write down the names of the people they’d like to talk to more and in the end the hosts will see if there was a mutual attraction. If two people like each other, then contact details are shared and you can organise a date between yourselves.

Confidentiality is very important and your information will not be shared with anyone without your consent. As the The MatchBox zw we will ask every participant to choose a pet name to refrain from using real names and also just to make it fun and exciting.
