There are no snowflakes here, but it’s full of sparkles and this is as cool as Perth gets! @re_perth inaugural winter arts festival is ready to blow your mind. It’s totally worth breaking hibernation for so get out of your winter cave and Rebirth. Don’t be one of those sad people that realise they snoozed on something really special after the fact! ❄️✨
Organising some files today and was inspired to re share this month long immersive installation we created for @nannupgardenfestival a few years back.
" The Last Supper "
When we disassembled the dinner party it was just so amazing to see the decay/ growth. There were potatoes with foot long shoots and pansys with ten centimetre flower stems.
#naturewillwinintheend
Big shout outs to @joartsevents & @nannupgardenfestival for their support on this project.
Finally, some moments in my overgrown garden.
Twisted vines are my very favourite.
Trash into treasure.
How delightful are the bugs the Pilbara youth made out of upcycled broken jewellery and op shop gems!

HARVEST TABLE for @rcciwa_awards
It's clear to say that my dads homegrown garlic bundles were the stars of the show.
Note: No food was wasted in the making of this video. Dad's garlic was on a strict loan policy, and all the fruits found homes!
Amazing music by my permaculture friend @formidableveg
I think my favourite rummaged item in the whole of the Japan styling adventure was two boxed vintage habu sake bottles with snakes inside. They were hidden in rubble and so old that the creatures had started to distentrigrate.
The habu snakes are venomous and can mate for 26 hours, which has created a common superstition that these strengths are passed on to those who dare to drink it. It's safe to say that none of us were brave enough!
CHERRY BLOSSOM was my favourite @snowmachinefest Golden Gai bar we created. Fitted with traditional shoji screens and vintage Japanese nic nacs rescued from old hotels and thrift stores.
I finally have a breather between events so can't wait to share more of all the amazing creations that we conquered with the dream team!

REFLECTING on the last week. Was it all a dream?
@gather_afloralexhibition was everything plus more. A magical collaboration of Perth floral artists all designing from the heart with #nofloralfoam.
I can't wait to share my installation AQUAFLEUR ~ (No rain No flowers) with you properly but first I must go water my garden as yesterday was the hottest day EVER in September 🫠

In case you missed it , I had the extreme pleasure of interviewing Rita Feldmann, the founder of @sustainablefloristry network, and the @nofloralfoam movement on our podcast @gather_afloralcommunity
The SFN is just about to launch an online course/ continuing professional development program that is internationally recognised. It will provide florists evidence based knowledge and the tools they need to ensure their business is operating with the most sustainable practices possible. There is a huge line up of experts and leaders from all corners of the globe behind this project, such as @shaneconnollyandco and @slowflowerssociety, just to name a few. This really is the most exciting development for our industry on a global level.
I can't wait to get stuck into this programme and
"officially" become part of the movement.

My heart definetly exploded with colour for beautiful souls ~ Emily & Guhan 🌈
A proper injection of colour into your morning.
You're welcome 🌈
Im pretty amazed and relieved to see how well my all natural botanicals installations handled being baked in the Australian sun for a month.
It certainly didn't look perfect by the end but neither is the natural world. Another milestone for me on this creative journey striving towards sustainability within my ephemeral art 🤎
Pinch me - I'm officially a podcaster now🤩
Even if I stuttered and ummed my way through my first ever podcast - I couldn't be more elated.
I can't believe I get to chat with my floral idols.
ASH@filmandfoliage thanks for being such a bubbly and informative guest. Your vibe and your message is infectious and I'm here for it.
I'm focusing on sustainability and I look forward to the opportunity to connect with floral designers who are leading the way in sustainable practices.
This is our future. Its the only way forward.
Thanks to Bec @foxandrabbit_ and @profresh.flowers & @backchat__ for making dreams a reality.
To any of my followers whom are in the flower bizzo and have not yet stumbled across @gather_afloralcommunity
This is your invitation to come join us. We are encouraging a friendly & all inclusive space where we can all learn and grow together❣️
Im still tyring to understand my fascination with creating fleeting elaborate gardens or "Temporary Paradise" in unusual spaces. Many of you may not know that I started my botanical career as a horticulturalist and garden designer in Melbourne.I was lucky enough during this time to design a student garden at Melbourne Flower and garden Show. This sparked my obsession with show gardens which in some ways is similar to a lot of my installations today. A decade and a half later and Im still scratching my head asking myself - why don't I design real gardens that last forever? Wouldn't that be more meaningful? Maybe its because I love the impermanence or that they are so out of place? Anyhoo whilst I try and figure this all out on some deeper level - Ill keep doing what I love and maybe it will all start to make sense soon. This was a magic collaboration with Lewis and @the_papa_guiseppe for @bunburyfringe. Im so grateful for opportunities like this that let my creative mind completly run free. And just like that. A wild meadowland has erupted out of the concrete.
