A few years ago I worked with Sarah & Tom to help curate their dream byron elopement combining their love of horses, rustic vibes and beauty as their backdrop to a deep dive into their love story.

is the perfect venue for this kind of intimate elopement, which is still available on request with access to horses for wedding photos!! captured it all so beautifully here!!!

I’m hoping to inspire another couple to take me back and enjoy all this great venue had to offer.

Rocking horse studios, now was a perrrfect place to host this fun couple 🎵

Chloe & Cory embraced a ‘friend’s only’ wedding celebration and I’m sure they tapped into the rock & roll vibes imbedded into the walls at this recording studio house. (Looking at the faces in the last shot of everyone moving into party mode pretty much confirms this 😂)

This ceremony was full to the brim of emotions, laughter, elation and happy tears.

It was an absolute honour to help Cory and Chloe culminate their big journey together into marriage! Yay!! And Congratulations 🥂

Ceremony logistics and standing positions is always a part of the planning conversation.

After the entrance, the hellos and a little breath to settle the nerves and emotions.. I break it into 2 parts.. the first involves engaging with your guests and facing outwards towards your people .. while I welcome them, and share your love story and beliefs about marriage.

The 2nd half its time to face each other, drop in deep and forget about the crowd. I move in to stand behind you for this part, prompting you through your commitments, the I do's and Vows. When it comes to the ring exchange, I get out of the way to make way for lovely shots like Mickey & Jonathans.

I'm all for hand, heart and eye contact for the Vows... and usually prompt couples so they can look into each others eyes and hold hands.

At Figtree, as celebrants we cant use a Microphone, but I like to offer my couples the option to speak their Vows gently in a mic, so they don't have to project their voices or feel like they have to perform. Micky and Jonathan choose to read from Vow cards, but have me hold the mic so they could still hand hands. Everyone's different, but intimacy in this moment is the key.

Hello out there 🌸💛

I’ve been very quite on here lately.. slipping into deep family time as we’ve been processing the life and loss of my dad. It’s been such a liminal space with many golden points of letting go and grieving together.

Writing my dads eulogy was an incredible way to reflect on the immense amounts of gratitude I have for him, who he was and all he did for our family.. which was a lot!

Here I am, in a bitter sweet moment. sitting with his ashes before we released them into the ocean …

I have a plethora of weddings and upcoming couples to post about but just haven’t been able to force it for now.

Thanks for your patience .. those who’ve been waiting for draft ceremonies, calls and meetings with me.. I’ve still been semi operational.. but now I can feel the spring wedding season coming in strong and I’m excited to celebrate love in all its forms with so many gorgeous couples. Xx

I’m not sure if there was ever a more joyful and fun bride than Thaleesha 🤣🤣🤣

During our planning catch ups there was talk about doing the caterpillar in her wedding dress 🫣(I have a few mates who like to pull out the caterpillars at special moments) .. and I though “no.. surely not in a wedding dress”… But these photos reveal she did 👌and how cool that her dad then followed suite 👌👌

Of course your wedding day is full of joy.. but this fantastic lady lives in it daily and her lovely husband Josh LOVES this about her !! Her face will be amazing when she’s old with wrinkles in all the right places.

Big-ups to dogs & toddlers at weddings!! Loving these super cute details captured by fav photographer

I honestly get to work with such great couples &felt so connected with these two unravelling their back 💛story.

Tara came home from work midweek to find a party in her shared house in Byron that her housemate hadn’t mentioned. Nick, down from the Gold Coast with his brother and mates were all planning to crash on her loungeroom floor for the night 😂. Tara remembers seeing his huge smile from across the room, and immediately felt less frustrated by the whole situation. No long after at Falls Festival they were undeniably into each other.. clicking superbly, and lovin their parallel outdoorsy easy goingness.

Their ceremony was such fun and I loved interacting with their beautiful families throughout.

Simple romantic and relaxed on Yugamebeh country.

Ruby and Zac reached out to me when they found my website appreciating that we seemed to have similar values… simplicity, cups of tea, being in nature and embracing the fact that the things that cost you nothing give you everything you need … as long they are together, life is full.

Recently I had the absolute pleasure of marrying these 2 Spunks and incredibly warm lovely people. It really was all kinds of wonderful, & despite a few rain drops it all felt so perfectly them.. which they have reflected back to me was their experience too.

I loved telling their story and how Jordan, fresh out of the UK & Gemma, fresh out of school both landed a job at Amart Sports. Gemma, bounded up and introduced herself... attracted to the his beautiful eyes, cute accent and the fact he had a car!! And thought “My god she is hot”.. loving her smile and friendly “forward” Aussie Vibe.

4 years on, a little growing up and a gazillion fun adventures under their belts..they created some pillars for their future together and we even spoke about some honest and awesome T’s and C’s for their marriage moving forward 👌💪

Gosh we laughed marrying Jess & Jodie. They heckled and hooted with me.. and cried a few happy tears while we made them ‘wifey for lifey” 💕

Their people shouted a resounding “we will” when I asked if they would support this marriage and share in more of the good times… then they created a massive cloud of confetti for legends to walk through.

I’m not going to share all the lovely details of this coming together here, just to say it was an honour to immerse in this fantastic love story and I drove away with my cheeks hurting. 😂

So lovely to run into a past couple Lucy and Simon today at our beautiful local farmers markets in New Brighton.

When I married them back in Feb 2019 their depth and beauty as a couple really spoke to me .. and they were still living in Sydney.. but now with their own sea change complete and a gaggle of munchkins they are living around the corner from me and also planting syntropic gardens and doing amazing things with food (Simon is an amazing vegan chef.. )

Rowan and Meredith met in the remote desert mining town of Roxby Downs. His opening line was “ what’s a pretty girl like you doing in a place like this”. 😂 Her good looks were the first thing to catch his eye, but soon after it was her smart witty humor, level of intelligence and the fact that she was a Chemical Engineer, meaning she must be really smart.

Meanwhile Meredith liked that Rowan was super down to earth, honest, and such a “looker” she loved his kind eyes and strong jawline.

For their first date they took her old Prado out to an abandoned opal-mining town, opened the back door, sat in the boot, drank beer and watched the sun set over the desert.. and it was on from there. Simple uncomplicated love. It wasn’t long before the both realized how easy and right it felt for them to be together .

Getting engaged was a deeply contemplated thing for Rowan as in his family there is saying stemming from his German Roots “No tattoos and no divorces!”

Hands down favourite dress of 2022. Not only didn’t have beautiful big sleeves.. that came off for later in the day, a stylish leg slit and pockets !!

Bathed in golden light and good vibes Deb & Peter were ridiculously happy to be saying I DO in an intimate and romantic ceremony with their kids and grandkids!

And for those who know the usual ceremony layout at .. you’ll notice that we flipped the orientation for this one.. suggested by the wonderful .. she could see the promise of the amazing golden lighting if we did it this way .. and because it was such a small crowd we could make it work. Photos are testimony to what a good choice this was. It really is SUCH A WONDERFUL and versatile venue for a small wedding!

Fabri & Claudio opted for the best of both worlds when planning their byron wedding.
They got married on the beach witnessed by a mainly Italian audience who really loved this location, and appreciated that fact that we had all my words translated and repeated after me in Italian.

Then they moved their celebration up the the iconic and enjoyed all the amazing things this venue had to offer.

Colour lightness & fun 🤩

Poppy & Nik’s vision for their wedding was lightness & fun with lots of colour!! These pics show that they 100% absolutely achieved this .. and then some. (Wait for my next post about their fruity and fabulous table decor 🍉 🍎 🍌)

I LOVED that Poppys bridesmaids all wore very different dresses to their own style, and their kiss!!! was just amazing.

CASUALLY CLASSY

Grace & Sam are divine humans and definitely easy on the eye 😉 I loved Grace’s timeless gown that she wore so elegantly.

Meeting on holidays in Byron lead to multiple trips between Melbourne & Adelaide. Sam would sit in horrendous peak hour traffic on Friday’s to pick up Grace from the airport and have an esky on the front seat with the makings of Gin and tonic complete with sliced cucumber.

Grace reflected on how easy Sam made it for her to fall in love with him – their relationship felt like one of ease and kindness towards each other. So she made the move to Melbourne to be with Sam. He watched her push her suitcase up the street towards him and remembers thinking how much he loved her, and Grace truly understood how deeply she loved Sam, when home went from being a place, to a person. 💕💕

Kat & Zac were clear from the get go they wanted a few things in their ceremony that would speak to their souls.

They had seen a ritual in Xavier Rudds ceremony where close friends put their hands on the couple at a particular point to symbolise the support and inclusivity of their community in times ahead.

They also wanted to connect with the elements, nature and the spirits of the land as they felt there was a certain magical energy in their own back garden where the ceremony was to be held. I loved doing this.

Such an incredibly inspiring, authentic, honest and beautiful couple.. I'm super glad that I helped them pull off their vision.
