How lucky we were to meet Woody Sampson. A multi-instrumentalist and super cool human, your fun vibe and brilliant artistry made our day. We are sure you had Brunswick Street rocking Sunday night.

A new domain for our video department that we have mainly used in a live setting, but just gives you an understanding of what we can do now, alongside all the other stuff we’re capable of. This show is recorded in real time and produced in real time as well…if an edit needs to be made then we have the easy ability to do so as we record every possible input into our video system.

Lots to build of our video rig but its exciting times!!

Claire Tonti is a Naarm based singer songwriter and mother of two little humans 3 and 7.
Claire has had sell-out shows in Melbourne, Victoria and an 11 show UK Ireland tour. She is also CEO of the media company Planet Broadcasting and host of two podcasts - the award winning recommendations show Suggestible and her interview show TONTS. where she celebrates women’s stories - talking to writers, experts, thinkers and deeply feeling humans about their lives. 
In February 2023, Claire released her debut album Matrescence with a special live performance at the iconic Brunswick Ballroom. A collection of 11 intimate indie folk songs that explore the complexities of mothering through her own story and the stories of the women she is privileged to know. Claire’s music encompasses love, loss, identity, mothering as a creative, overcoming birth trauma, breastfeeding challenges and post natal depression. She also wrote, starred and co-directed a music video for her first single Fear to Feel as part of the album’s release set in Fitzroy’s Edinburgh Gardens and surrounds.
In March 2023 Matrescence was made the soundtrack for the M/other festival run through the Wheeler Centre, Claire also performed her song Self addressing postnatal depression and birth trauma at the Edge in Federation Square. Claire is now performing across regional Victoria and Melbourne partnering with various women’s organisations and groups to sing about and advocate for improved support for perinatal mental health.
Co-founding media company Planet Broadcasting with her partner James Clement in 2015, Claire began innovative work monetising and producing podcasts and YouTube content. Experienced in both audio production and with a keen eye for new ways of producing and delivering content, Claire grew her company to be one of the largest independent podcast & YouTube networks in Australia.

Over the Christmas and New Year period I had a great chance to work with MPH Australia at Beyond The Valley.
It was great to learn a very different side of events compared to what I normally do and picked up on heaps so thanks for having me!

Got to enjoy some amazing acts too - my favourites were Flight Facilities, Dom Dolla and Rufus Du Sol. Was also great to see Mia Wray perform as well who we worked with a few years ago when she performed in Warrnambool.

You may have noticed a change in our page name overnight from ‘Chris Barks DJ’ to ‘Chris Barks Productions’.

Over the next few months you’ll start to see some change happening with our business…

Its time for the name ‘Chris Barks DJ’ to go as we go through a rebranding process.

Why?
Well CBDJ has been around for the last 14 years, and in that time, the business has evolved into much more than just ‘another DJing business’.
It doesnt show or explain what else we can do. That being audio, lighting and our recently announced live video production service. Our old name did not reflect that at all, and with a new name of Chris Barks Productions, reflects that as being a one stop shop for your event needs.

As Chris Barks ‘DJ’ is a highly respected and well known household name in the local entertainment industry, I will be trying to keep that in some way but not entirely and eventually it will be phased out. Redirects will start to get rolled out…

To everyone that has been apart of this journey over the many years, thank you for being on it, but its time to say ‘bye-bye’ to Chris Barks DJ and introduce you to Chris Barks Productions.

We recently provided lighting and audio gear, and also mixed audio for Tibetan-Australian GRAMMY nominated artist Tenzin Choegyal at Christ Church, Birregurra! It was all part of his Be The Ocean Concert tour. An amazing performance, artist and down to earth performer. It was great working with him.

Today we tested the video out for next weekends free public screening of Elf the movie at the Colac Lake Oval. We are looking after all technicalities for it, that being connection into the ground scoreboard for use as a screen, video playback and provision of outside audio gear. It’s great that our new video department is getting some work!

We can make the lights to whatever colour you would like. Maybe a theme colour for your wedding?
Our uplights also look great around other things you may not think of (eg the outside of your venue, even underneath trees), and can also spice up your venue in another way.

All of our lights are pre-programmed to whatever you want and remotely controlled from our booth.

Last weekend we had a great time doing audio and lighting for the Meet Me in Birregurra Community Picnic, featuring acts The Hip Replacements, Moonshine Blues / Pol Jam, The Rank Outsiders and 2022 Telstra ARIA Music Teacher Award winner Matty Orchard.
A great day of performances, food, wine and activities for the kids! Cant wait to do it all over again!

This was something I loved being apart of! Able to incorporate my part time business into my full time technical job in radio. This all came about after an idea was floated at work about having a Haunted House in the studios of Mixx1063.

We provided audio, lighting and video throughout the studios all in the name of charity to raise money for Lets Talk Colac.

Over 1,000 attendees, heaps of lights, speakers, hours of preparation, technical challenges and a few meters of cabling we pulled it off!

Thanks so much to everyone for coming and having fun, and thanks to Mixx FM and Kreative Business Marketing Colac for having me involved!

It featured guest speakers including Dr Gjoko Muratovski from Deakin Universitys Digital Futures Hub, and Jill Bingham from Bingham Agriculture. A very interesting event to be apart of!!
