Oh what a weekend!!!

We did our first ever wedding florals, and it was incredible! My gorgeous sister in law .malinda (seriously, look at her 😍), asked us to do her flowers, and we were so nervous about it. But it turned out better than we could have imagined.

We are so proud of the fact we did this 100% without purchasing any extra flowers, only what we grew ourselves. We also didn’t use any floral foam, as being kind to the environment and reducing waste is very important to us.

Safe to say we have a newfound respect for wedding florists, it was hectic, it was hard, and it was crazy!! But it was all so worth it 🥰

We are still on a high and can’t wait to see all the professional photographs, as you can bet we will be sharing them!

Little article in the Stock Journal 🌸☺️

We are loving our flower journey, but can tell you it isn’t all ‘smelling the roses’. It’s a tough and time consuming gig, but with passion for what we do, we are working hard to bring this dream to life!

Well we survived 4 days with no water to the patch!

The private pipeline that supplies all our water was having work done this week and we currently have a lot of young plants out in the main patch, so we were a little worried. We are very lucky that Mother Nature was kind, with mild temps and even a touch of rain. We have back up bore water, which we have had to use before in the peak of summer and dahlia season, but we were fine without it this time. Bore water is a lot saltier than our usual water, so it’s not ideal.

We had a shuttle full of water to keep our hardened off seedlings, and babies in the greenhouse alive and lots of hand watering was happening.

Now it’s time to give them all a well earned drink!🚿

Bidding farewell to ranunculus season! Felt like you could’ve blinked and missed it 😭 The early season heat, crazy wind and heavy rain definitely didn’t help, but gosh they were STUNNING! And that’s what makes them, and all seasonal flowers so special…they all have their moment to shine, even if it isn’t for long.

We are definitely missing their ruffled perfection, but don’t worry, dahlias, the absolute queens of the flower world are only a few weeks away, and we are so excited for an early season!

Stock appreciation post!!

These sweet smelling, fluffy stunners are one of our all time favourites! It could be considered an old fashioned flower variety, and for us it does bring back memories of our grandma’s garden, as she used to grow it. But the colours available and its pure whimsical beauty, are definitely here to stay! There’s nothing quite like it, and if you haven’t smelt it, you need to!

We buys ours as plugs rather than growing from seed. Stock can produce single flowers, or the fluffy doubles as pictured. We want all doubles if possible, so they are selected at germination by the producers. Each plant also only puts out a single flower from the growing tip, and then it’s finished. These reasons make it the most expensive crop we plant, but it’s totally worth it!

Unfortunately ours are almost all finished for this season (although we do have a second succession of apricot coming), so if you see them, get them while you can!

We’re back baby!!

Spring has arrived and the patch is filling up with colour again! This means we are back to lots of flowers to share with all you flower lovers 🤍

Currently blooming we have ranunculus, daffodils, straws, billy buttons, anemones, poppies, sweet peas, queen annes lace and chocolate lace. Stock and delphs won’t be far behind!

Happy Father’s Day to the dads in our life!

To our partners and thank you for your help, holding the fort when needed, and understanding that when we say we are popping out to the patch for 10 mins, it actually means 2 hours 🤭

And to our dad, Den, we can’t thank you enough for being our sounding board and for the countless hours you put into the patch. We couldn’t have got this far without you! 🤍

We are taking a break for a couple weeks and heading off on a family holiday! ☀️ Zonny will stock with occasional poppy jars, but that will be it in terms of flower availability. We will also be quiet on the socials, unless we find some flower content worth sharing. Stay warm and see you all soon 😊🌸

Farm bunch availability update!

As many of you would know, unfortunately our season is pretty much at an end. Every flower that goes into our bunches, is grown by us at the patch, so with winter approaching, we don’t have a lot still in flower. For that reason we won’t have a consistent supply of flowers at our usual locations. Currently we still have some poppies and strawflowers, as well as a few other gorgeous bits and pieces, and you’ll find these and whenever possible. But supply will be limited, so if you’re after something special for an occasion, please reach out so we can let you know what we have.

We want to thank you all for your support over spring, summer and autumn! It’s been our biggest yet!

Now time to reset and get our patch looking fabulous ready for spring! 🌸

Happy Mother’s Day to our wonderful mum, Zonny!

We couldn’t do it without all the amazing help she gives us. From washing buckets and jars, to seed collecting, delivering and picking on our big florist days. Not to mention all the encouragement and support that means so much to us!
