👏 Appreciation Post 👏

Our eldest is starting school next year. A very exciting and daunting time and a huge decision to make.

My husband and I know we have great schools in our community, however we were both blown away at the dedication and passion each principal and teaching staff have for their school and students.

I would like to say a massive Thank You to
Parkview Public School
St. Joseph's Primary School, Leeton and
Leeton Public School
for their informative and welcoming information sessions this past week.

We are SO LUCKY to have these schools and many others in Leeton, providing our community with a CHOICE of quality education and care for our children to grow and thrive.

Huge congratulations to the Leeton SunRice Festival committee!!

Your tireless efforts put on an amazing show for Leeton residents and visitors for the whole weekend.

I especially loved how many activities were very family friendly ☺️

Congratulations to the SunRice ambassadors for raising that amount of money for their chosen charity. Both amazing causes.

Huge thanks to everyone who joined us for the 2024!

Here's a few quick stats from the weekend:
👏 70 floats traversed the length of the street parade
🥔 135kg of spuds became delicious twisted potatoes over the weekend
🎈 500 modelling balloons were blown up and made into hats at the Balloon Glow
🌉 2809 people crossed the footbridge from Mark Taylor Oval to enter the Glow on Sunday night
💰 $54K raised by two Ambassadors for their respective charities and the community

𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗟 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝗟𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗢𝗡 𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗥𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗟 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦 $𝟮𝟮𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗢𝗣𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧

Council is delighted to announce its successful bid for a $220,000 grant from the NSW Government, earmarked for the development of an 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝘂𝘀𝗲, 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 which will lead the way for a more dynamic and sustainable future for Leeton Shire. 🏘️

Deputy Mayor Cr Michael Kidd, Portfolio Lead for Housing, said the funding injection represents a pivotal moment for Leeton.

“The new strategy enables us to chart a course towards coordinated growth, efficient infrastructure development, and enhanced connectivity; facilitating the creation of up to 550 new homes while ensuring the seamless integration of essential services and amenities."

Mayor Cr Tony Reneker echoed Cr Kidd's sentiments, saying, "This grant underscores Leeton's long-term vision for growth and prosperity. By leveraging these funds, we are not only shaping the physical landscape of our town but also nurturing an environment where residents and businesses can thrive."

The Leeton Roxy Community Theatre continues to be a hive of activity following the resumption of works in the new year with a concrete suspended slab being poured this morning on the first floor of the new side building to the Roxy auditorium.

👉 The first floor will connect through to the dress circle of the auditorium as well as provide access to one of the dressing rooms, lifts and theatre management area.

🎥 Keep your eyes peeled for the next 𝗥𝗼𝘅𝘆 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 which will be released in the first week of February.
