Tomorrow it's the Festival of Our Age Expo from 10am to 2pm at the Margaret River HEART - Nala Bardip Mia

To end a wonderful week of Seniors Week celebrations, we are hosting the Festival of Our Age Expo from 10am to 2pm tomorrow at the Margaret River HEART - Nala Bardip Mia ❤️

The Expo has been designed to help our older community members connect with others, try something new and access important and relevant information to help them age well.

🗣️ 10am to 11.30am: Welcome, opening address and guest presentations from representatives at Advocare and WA Country Health Service

🥄 11.30am to 12pm: Come and see a performance by Deb ‘Spoons’ Perry and have a go playing the spoons yourself

🥪 11.30am to 1.30pm: Chat with a range of service providers and community groups, and get information related to ageing well (there is also some light lunch and live music in the Soundshell between 12 - 1pm)

🧍 1pm to 2pm: Tai Chi demo and taster session - only a couple of spots left (please RSVP).

💃🏻 1pm to 2pm: Swing dancing lesson – learn the Shim Sham (please RSVP)

Let's celebrate positive and healthy ageing!

The Shire of Augusta Margaret River's Festival of Our Age is underway with various activities all week. You might like to get along to the Festival of Our Age Expo on Friday to chat with Ashleigh and Debbie about Staying in Place, the new service operated at the Community Centre to support older people to live at home.

Have you ever attended the Intergenerational Playgroup at the Margaret River Uniting Church?

It's been going for 20 years and they're celebrating with an afternoon tea on Saturday 2 November. Past playgroupers are invited to along and say hello again. Rene will be there - she's still supporting parents and their little ones over playdough and cuppas.

Bowls for Soupie 2024 is on TOMORROW night - bowls have sold out, but meal-only tickets are still available!

Meal-only tickets can be purchased online from Arts Margaret River today or in person tomorrow at 6pm at the Community Centre) $25/person for event entry and the embellished Soupie feast.

You can bid on one of 15 bowls/ sets in the auction up until 8pm tomorrow night. They're all on display at Margaret River HEART - Nala Bardip Mia today then at the event tomorrow evening.

If you pre-purchased an online ticket and are yet to pick a bowl up, you can collect today before 1pm from the Community Centre office or tomorrow at the event in the quadrangle at the Community Centre at 6pm.

Ken and Ian were all smiles at Coles this morning, picking up the SecondBite supplies for Margaret River Soup Kitchen tonight :)

Today it's a hive of activity in the kitchen and on the streets - Ken and Ian were spotted collecting SecondBite supplies for Coles ready to go into the pots and be distributed at tonight's Soupie at 5pm.

Tomorrow the kitchen crew will be at it again, prepping for the annual fundraising night for Soupie. We very grateful to Margaret River Lions for donating funds to purchase the ingredients for the fundraising feast - thank you to our wonderful Lions volunteers who do so much for the community.

Bowls for the event have sold out but meal-only tickets can still be purchased online beforehand (and in person tomorrow at 6pm) $25/person. Come along and fill your bowl for a good cause!
