Last week the Hall Committee Purchased 200 Banquet Chairs for the Hall. Over the long weekend we finally got to see how a formal event set up (wedding/engagement) using our new chairs and hired round tables from Mogga's in Young would look in our Hall. Safe to say the Monteagle Hall would make an excellent function room for a wedding/engagement party. This set up was beautiful.

We have had a last minute cancellation for a children's birthday party. So instead of packing everything up and waiting for another time to use it I thought we could offer it to another person as a Special Offer.

On 28 September 2022, Council resolved to extend its existing waste collection contracts. As part of this extension, Council wishes to consult with the community on how best to improve waste management services across the Hilltops.

Public consultation will aim to collect data about community opinion relating to possible changes including but not limited to: changes to service fees, changes to collection areas, changes to the type and frequency of kerbside collections, new or alternative bins and changes to recycling materials.

Council has already begun the consultation process by sharing an online survey and now wish to hold consultation sessions in all towns and villages where Council has a waste facility.

Council encourages community members to attend the below sessions to have their say on the future of waste across the Hilltops.

It was lovely to have students from the Young Regional Conservatorium of Music 'Rock Band' provide some musical numbers for everyone's entertainment at Monteagle Hall on Saturday (as part of the 140th Anniversary of Monteagle Public School). Many thanks to Mark Corkery and the students for giving up their time on the weekend to help out. Also many thanks to Amanda who played a number of tunes on the keyboard as well!!

Mr Brian Jones travelled from afar- from Brisbane in fact, all the way to Monteagle for the school's 140th Anniversary this weekend, with a generous donation of his 1949 banner from the Country Rugby Football League of NSW Riverina Carnival for the Monteagle memorabilia collection! Thank you Brian!!

Mr Greg Nuthall came to celebrate Monteagle Public School's 140th Anniversary on the 5th November- pictured here sitting on the very pushbike he used to ride from home along Waterview Road, to school at Monteagle... along time ago. There's even the dint where he stacked it one day coming along towards the village!

A big thank you to the Monteagle Fire Brigade from Monteagle who had the trucks out and allowed the kids to have a go at the hoses while we celebrated Monteagle School's 140th Anniversary yesterday at the Hall!!

Special thanks to Mayor of Hilltops Council, Mrs Margaret Roles and her kind words at the 140th Anniversary of Monteagle School. Also to Ms Sarah Dabin, principal at Monteagle Public School, who ensured the school and grounds looked superb (we loved the powerpoint of photos in the library!), and last but not least, Mrs Leanne Sell, the instigator of the whole event, whose background work in planning, contacting people, pulling together memorabilia etc etc was unrelenting! Thank you all!

Official Monteagle Muster Weekend plans.
Due to no accommodation vacancy available in surrounding areas for this planned weekend, the planned bush dance has been postponed to a future date next year. But we still have a lot of fun and events planned for the weekend.
