Hello to all the people who have supported us here on this page.
WoW! We really appreciate all your efforts, good vibes, shares, likes, love and comments. We started Western Avenue Floral Design in 2014 from a kitchen bench in Montville on Western Avenue. We bought $50 worth of flowers and foraged through our gardens, our friends gardens and our most favourite garden "the side of the road". We were having so much fun we decided to put our bunches outside the local newsagent to sell. Word spread and the community enjoyed our bunches. It was such hard work keeping them fresh in those early days. Always battling the heat. We maintained 3 years at the newsagent, then moved to the Montville IGA. We were happier to be in air conditioning it made our job easier. We grew our client base from here with quality, reliability and consistency.
Passion and creativity is always the driving force. We were well known for creating beautiful bouquets that had their own energy. Many people used our bouquets for weddings. This was not our intention at the time. To this day it surprises us that people could not only see what we were doing but could feel it too.
Our next move was to either expand the flower gift range at the IGA pending space and environment or close it down and commit to wedding floral design. And you all know what we decided.
An opportunity to work with Secrets on the lake to develop a small wedding package presented itself in 2019, just before COVID. We said YES and worked with George, Aldy and Sarah to support this big little idea. You would have thought that it was all over once COVID hit............ It was our first year together in 2020 and we did 25 COVID weddings. When things were falling apart we were digging deep and getting s**t done.
The rest is history. This is just apart of our story. The real story is the relationships, we have with our clients, Alan & Norelle from the newsagent, Anne from the IGA, Sarah, George and Aldy from Secrets and my biggest supporter Col from Bradies fruit in Palmwoods who always has our back.
We wanted to share this with you to say thank you very much and let you know we will be closing this page down and keeping our Instagram page. We would love it if you followed us over there. We enjoy technology and social media and are committed to keeping up and tidying up. We find tidying up is one of our key strategies to staying on top of things and life in general. It is cleansing. And makes us feel open and ready for another project. So thank you all again. Big hugs. See you over on Instagram.
