Today marks the start of Transgender Awareness Week. Pride WA proudly stands with our trans community - we stand for urgent law reform on gender recognition; we stand for better access to supportive medical (including mental health) services and better training for service providers; and we stand to celebrate the trans communities' beauty, joy, relationships and proud place in our LGBTQIA+ community.

Trans Awareness week leads into Trans Day of Remembrance on 20th November. Trans Day of Remembrance is an annual observance that honours the memory of transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. Please join us at the TransFolk of WA Trans Day of Remembrance Community Vigil on 20 November, 6.30-7.30 at Hyde Park (Stage Area).

The Shire of Northam in these tough times is again supporting concession card and pensioners to register their cats and dogs for a LIFETIME for free.

If you have your animal microchipped and desexed we can offer you free lifetime registration. Bring all your supporting paperwork to the Shire admin office and we will process it for you.

Having your pet micro chipped allows Rangers to return them home safely, however a micro chip is NOT Local Government registration of your pet.

So please register your pets to the Shire of Northam as it is legislatively required.
