To Honour…..

🕯️To honour the life of Jean, I suggested that we have a candle lighting ceremony at the beginning of the service at the Chapel.

🍰 Jean loved her grandies and they in turn adored her. They would often bake a cake, telephone Grandma and say “were coming for morning tea Grandma – get out the best china”… Bless … and off they’d trot to Grandma’s for morning tea and cake. Even the eldest Grandchild, he, mat 28, was still doing it.

🕯️Jean had 10 grandchildren and so each of them lit a candle at the beginning of the service to honour their Grandmother.

🕯️Just prior to committal, I asked each of the Grandchild to come forward and blow out their candle.

🕯️Respectfully and solemnly, they blew out the candle. They got to take their candle home as a loving memory of that day they said farewell to their Grandmother.
