Opposition leader Shane Love says the state government overstimulated the building market with COVID building incentives and that the system of review by the state building regulator should be examined.

He told ABC Radio Perth that he ultimately just wants to see the people living in the homes they are already paying for with interest and stamp duty.

This interivew came about following Nadia's discussion with a local mayor last week, and his councils issues with an eyesore of a development with another builder.

If you’re hiring a tradesperson, booking a holiday or buying an internet plan, you’re entering into a contract. A contract is legally enforceable and can be in writing, verbal or agreed to with the click of a mouse.

The law protects you from unfair terms in standard form contracts, which are pre-written contracts where the customer can’t change any, or the majority, of the terms.

We understand it can be overwhelming to read through all the fine print. Here are some questions that are helpful for checking whether a contract term might be unfair.

Well, it's been a whole year since they stopped selling new contracts. Yet, they STILL haven't completed all customer builds on the ground.

Yep, you read that right.
Did BGC do better? Far from it.

The people of Western Australia have supported BGC for 50 years. In return, they have made a mockery of the WA Construction Industry. They have treated their customers, tradies and even their own employees with ignorance and disrespect.

SHAME on BGC.
SHAME on those who turn a blind eye.
SHAME on those who see the truth and do nothing.
This company has brought SHAME to the home building sector.

We will heal.
But we will never forget.
And neither should the Western Australian public.

Unfortunately this update comes too little too late for those building with BGC.
Let's hope it helps smaller builders get back on their feet!

We know the construction industry has experienced significant labour challenges and material price increases over the past few years.

It had resulted in many families that are building new homes being left stranded with incomplete projects and no timeline for delivery.

That’s why we’ve just announced the establishment of an interest-free loan facility to help residential builders complete unfinished properties.

It'll provide a targeted incentive to help builders complete outstanding projects, prevent further insolvencies, and will result in less incomplete homes.
