Very well said… man???
Everyone who is thinking of getting dogs should read this because you need to understand this reality:
***I am a 21st century dog.***
-I'm a Malinois.
Overskilled among dogs, I excel in all disciplines and I'm always ready to work: I NEED to work.
But nowadays I get asked to chill on the couch all day everyday.
-I am an Akita Inu.
My ancestors were selected for fighting bears.
Today I get asked to be tolerant and I get scolded for my reactivity when another approaches me.
-I am a Beagle.
When I chase my prey, I raise my voice so the hunters could follow.
Today they put an electric collar on me to shut up, and you make me come back to you - no running - with a snap of your fingers.
-I am a Yorkshire Terrier.
I was a terrifying rat hunter in English mines.
Today they think I can't use my legs and they always hold me in their arms.
-I'm a Labrador Retriever.
My vision of happiness is a dive into a pond to bring back the duck he shot to my master.
Today you forget I'm a walking, running, swimming dog; as a result I'm fat, made to stay indoors, and to babysit.
-I am a Jack Russell.
I can take on a fox, a mean badger, and a rat bigger than me in his den.
Today I get scolded for my character and high energy, and forced to turn into a quiet living room dog.
-I am a Siberian Husky.
Experienced the great, wide open spaces of Northern Europe, where I could drag sleds for long distances at impressive speeds.
Today I only have the walls of the house or small garden as a horizon, and the holes I dig in the ground just to release energy and frustration, trying to stay sane.
-I am a border collie
I was made to work hours a day in partnershipwith my master, and I am an unmistakable artist of working with the herd.
Today they are mad at me because, for lack of sheep, I try to check bikes, cars, children in the house and everything in motion.
I am ...
I am a 21st century dog.
I'm pretty, I'm alert, I'm obedient, I stay in a bag...but I'm also an individual who, from centuries of training, needs to express my instincts, and I am *not* suited for the sedentary life you'd want me to lead.
Spending eight hours a day alone in the house or in the garden - with no work and no one to play or run with, seeing you for a short time in the evening when you get home, and only getting a small toilet walk will make me deeply unhappy.
I'll express it by barking all day, turning your yard into a minefield, doing my needs indoors, being unmanageable the rare times I'll find myself outside, and sometimes spending my days sunk, sad, lonely, and depressed, on my pillow.
You may think that I should be happy to be able to enjoy all this comfort while you go to work, but actually I’ll be exhausted and frustrated, because this is absolutely NOT what I'm meant to do, or what I need to be doing.
If you love me, if you've always dreamed of me, if my beautiful blue eyes or my athletic look make you want me, but you can't give me a real dog's life, a life that's really worth living according to my breed, and if you can't offer me the job that my genes are asking, DO NOT buy or adopt me!
If you like the way I look but aren't willing to accept my temperament, gifts, and traits derived from long genetic selection, and you think you can change them with only your good will, then DO NOT BUY OR ADOPT ME.
I’m a dog from the 21st century, yes, but deep inside me, the one who fought, the one who hunted, the one who pulled sleds, the one who guided and protected a herd still lives within.
So think **very** carefully before you choose your dog. And think about getting two, rather than one, so I won't be so very lonely waiting for you all day. Eight or ten hours is just a workday to you, but it's an eternity for me to be alone.
Excellent training!!!
Excellent trading, Good Dog!!! Lots of 10c Containers For Change there!!! 🧡🧡🧡

Smarty pup 🥰😍 and sustainable.
Last night’s winter sunset in Perth, Western Australia.
Wheelbarrow load of grey foliage…
On top is Eucalyptus rhodantha, commonly called rose mallee or rose gum.
At the bottom is budded Eucalyptus pleurocarpa, commonly known as tetragona. Both are Western Australian flora. From this hot dry summer and autumn that has just finished in W.A., 7 hot dry months, the eucalyptus trees have not stopped giving us the joy of their blossom!
For bringing her love of native plants, flowers from creating and arranging with much love, at my home outdoor space, to Karrakatta’s Norfolk Chapel for the most incredible farewell of such a special person. Most of the flowers and foliages are from Vicki’s and our sw gardens. I also have much gratitude for my local wholesalers who have also supplied great beauty.
Such an honour to create Jude’s casket spray flowers… now back at Daglish Street by the pool. To of course entice the honeyeaters and bees Jude so loved. Lots from Vicki’s and our sw gardens. Roses: cherry brandy, shimmer, twilight.
Happiest 1st Anniversary (20.5.23) .banana.wtf and Dan, sharing with beautiful little Iris. 1st 2 photos taken by .biesse Rest taken by me using iPhone.
Michael’s Groomsmen were having great fun.

MND Walk 2024 with our beautiful school friend Jude you are amazing and so determined. The respect and love we all have for you is immense! Ditto for the crowd you had walking with you and for you…from school and Uni days, your botanical and Rottnest Island Guide friends, neighbours and wonderful family and family friends. Then your incredible carers, Sioux, Jane and others, all so dedicated to you. All at love and respect you too. 💙🧡💙 I was so proud to be there with you. ♥️
Apologies for quiet from me here, getting over a flu! These beauties were used in a special wedding downsouth week before last… The foliage was so lovingly put into 44 irregular bunches for under table raisers, with help so gratefully received from a living Angel 💚💚💚🌿
A special Get Well gift in situ with a beautiful view! Banksias from Foliage and leucadendrons homegrown from our sw garden. Arranged with much love. x5 varieties!
☀️☀️☀️ Sunshine… Acacia is back! Actually is there ever time without you?? Photo 1,2 is local yesterday in Wembley. Photo 3 is in our SW garden, from a week ago. Always brightly uplifting and cheerful 🤩🤩🤩 #☀️
Yipppppeeeee….🌧️🌧️🌧️ delivered…lots! Some poor people had way too much. Where I am you can see our wet wet path, that was 5 minutes only for us! Arrow on map shows our sw garden received none…. Scroll to see my earlier than normal dog walk views, I must admit I was hopeful … pink galahs wondering if they will be ok? News on tv…. There was even a lot of, I mean a L.o.t of hail for some…. Poor people whose cars are totalled… South Fremantle way had zero… for some!
Plant a tree, Got It!!! Have you?

You can never undermine a TREE
A great elongated sideways arrangement having a loll on the chair that suits photos of flowers… and cannot be tipped over! 😂 It is for a 360 degree position in this lovely clients home. Also, a little arrangement for their visitor’s room, with special overseas visitors due. So great to showcase for them. All foliage is from our sw garden, mostly eucalyptus, and some hakea looking amazing having survived our extremely brutal summer temperatures in Western Australia, and still with no rain in 6 months. Well… under 1-2mm of rain only, dried instantly! Banksia purchased from
Nearly a full moon in the smokey evening. Incredible gratitude to all the firies saving human lives and homes down Waroona way this week. Horrifying to think how many innocent animals have lost their lives and homes. Grateful also that the large tree was only 1/2 lopped back and tonight the evening chorus of lorikeets was back, almost as loud as normal.

An amazing experience in our sw garden a couple of weeks ago ago… these white tailed black cockatoos were thirsty!!! I might have been 7m away… if they can be ID’d that would be amazing. #blackcockatoos #australianfauna #australianfauna #westernaustralianbirds #westernaustraliauncovered
For Jude @judithagram for her last 2.5 weeks. She sent me some bird sightings… coming in to get nectar. On her verandah post outside her bedroom window… with a refresh of blossom for her last 2 days, she was farewelled by her loving family and a bird chorus…coming in for nectar and a drink at her birdbaths... #eucalyptusblossom
At 2.4m high, this arbour was so much fun to create in my head, prior to actually setting up. 2 ladders, 2 helpers, thank you James and Vanessa from @rustico_hayshedhill for your wonderful assistance… and to Groom’s beautiful Mum, I think we nailed it! The Groom’s Dad and sister provided beautiful 🎶 and love songs for the Groom and Bride @chelseyknox ♥️❤️♥️ #swwedding #wedding #weddingfloraldesign #weddingarbour #arbour #arbourflowers #blossom #eucalyptus #eucalyptusblossom #hakeablossom #homegrown

Our Australian pretty black swan feeding close to us on a dog walk. I took this video to send to our Granddaughter in Sweden. She has the most beautiful book called The Family Hour in Australia, that has a page dedicated to a pair of these beauties. #blackswan #australianfauna #australianfaunaandwildlife

This video was taken last week in a moment of contemplation, stillness, and reflection of a young life lost… after delivery of flowers to loved ones. Very fitting today with the loss of Queen Elizabeth… 70 years of incredible reign and service, respected and loved world wide.
‘Trips to Naturaliste over the years’ has been put together by my iPhone! It’s mostly about Weddings I have had the privilege of creating florals for downsouth. These beautiful Brides and Grooms are @chicoandb and Ben, @hannah.clynick and Luke, @eyresf and Dave, @5075.b and Brenton. Our kids are in the mix, having fun with our dog doing a bog lap around them. I’m in the mix, with my eyes closed, post Wedding 🌸🌺🌸🌿 set up (maybe a little weary 🤔 or perhaps looking into the ☀️?? 🙃) #flowersbyjaniewa #wedding #weddingflowers #weddingsetup #iphonesetup #createdbymyiphone
Please excuse my poor skills on video… I was so excited to see this magnificent red-capped parrot, a South West Aussie, in our sw garden. Strange to see 3 of them low to the ground on grevillea? Their usual source of food is seed from eucalyptus fruit capsules, Eg marri gumnuts! The sound is on, and this one make a deep sound briefly, you can’t miss it! #redcappedparrot #local #westernaustralianfauna
Happppppy sunny Sunday, on a gloomy day in Perth. ☀️☀️☀️acacia or wattle ☀️💚☀️🌿 Usually 🐝🐝🐝 city, but just too much noise from traffic for bees and meeee, hence no sound! 😁#acacia #wattle #australianflora

Good morning and Happy WA Day to all West Aussies, near and far. ♥️🇦🇺💙🖤🟡♥️ Nothing could be more iconic than these early morning bird calls, pink skies and especially the chatter of Carnaby’s black cockatoos as they enjoy our beautiful white nerifolia proteas… not their natural food, but they love them!Marri tree gumnuts are nearly ready for them! Have a great day to everyone who is reading my post! 🌺💚🌸🌿#waday #earlymorning #blackcockatoo #southwestwa #swwa #westernaustralia
