New Egyptian Baladi Elements with Keti at the Blue Lotus Room - a special 4 week course in August. If you like props this is a more advanced level course to really understand the cultural arts of Baladi and the correct use of props. Cost is $120 for 4 weeks or $35 per class casually. Hope to see you there!

NOTE: This is a stand-alone course with extra notes and focus workshop-style, so kindly note it is not part of the class passes. Although all other 1 hour sessions Jul-Sep are!

Hi lovely ladies & gents! Bellydance with me & Egyptian Drumming classes with Sam Nascimento are starting this weekend in Morley! Beginning Sat 20th July. I have Bellydance classes Sat, Mon & Wed plus a special seniors class Fridays 11am (also suits those with physical limitations). Sam teaches Mon nights and Sundays, and often plays for our dance classes!

These new classes run for 2 months July 20-Sep 20, 2024.

Soon... Fri night performance evenings where you can socialise & enjoy cultural performances. We'd love you to join us!

PRIVATE BELLYDANCE CLASSES!

Hello everyone! I am in Cairo now, hosting Farida's Gala & seminar - and there also are many festivals on! So I'm doing a few classes to update my own bellydance repertoire. Classes resume at BLR Morley 20th July, and for the first time, I'm also offering private classes. I can help beginners to ramp up their technique or help performers to polish up! Its $100 an hour or $120 for two dancers, so it works out to $60 each. Private classes are great to strengthen your basics, so you can step into any class at all. Or to get focused, personlised tuition & feedback to develop your art. Bookings available Sep 1-Sep 15, Oct 15-Nov 15, 2024. Reach out if you wish to book a private Bellydance session! :)

NEWS!!! Tmrw Night Mon, Sam is hosting a special 1 hour percussion class 6-7pm is just before my Raqs Sharqi class. Its fine for beginners too - you can come along if you'd like to try your hand at percussion!! He'll show the song 'Zay il Hawa's' rhythmic structure. Class is just $25, pay at door.

My Raqs class is dancing to the same song at 7pm. Stay for both, its like a workshop!!

Remember, today Sam's Sunday Drum Intensive is 5:30-7:30pm. That's the deep dive. Hope you're having a fun long weekend. xx

NEWS!! Hi everyone, quite a few of you have been asking about RIQQ classes (Egyptian tambourine)! Sam will be running these fun new classes on Sundays at the Blue Lotus Room after his regular Darbuka drum intensive classes. Beginner's RIQQ classes will be on from 1pm-2pm each Sunday starting from this week. Cost is $30 a class casual or $100 for 4 x sessions if paid upfront. I'll be there this weekend! If you have your own Riqq, bring it, or you can hire a Riqq for $5 a session. Please let us know if interested in joining in! Starts this Sunday - April 21st! ~ Keti

Just a quick heads up that we have done a bit of a revamp of our private WhatsApp group, which is open to students who are ACTIVE participants within the last three months of Blue Lotus Room classes. Of course, anyone who resumes classes after a hiatus is welcome to rejoin the private group as this is where many of our conversations about the actual class, content and sharing things like music and videos takes place. :)

Hi everyone, I'm back from Egypt today! Kim Astle, thank you for teaching our Wed classes!

My Sat & Wed classes resume this weekend (Sat 10am Pulse8, 11am A-Z Drills, Wed 11am Beg Bellydance, 6pm Pulse8, 7pm Adv Bellydance). Please feel free to make up any sessions due, or book into a new Feb course! Our Wed 7pm Adv class features a fun Saiidi medley.

Our special workshop this month is:
'Raqs Sharqi IMPROVISATION' 1-4pm 25th Feb with afternoon tea. All our members are welcome to the concession rate. You'll explore your dancing through sensing & feeling deep within the body. I'll guide you to find & dissolve energy blocks to allow your natural ease & sensuality to shine through. This Wed morning classes 24th and 31st Jan are cancelled, but both these Wed nights are on with KIM ASTLE teaching the 6pm Pulse8 class & the 7pm Adv class (learn a super-fun dance El Ghazalah!). Sat 27th Jan class cancelled, but I'm back the following week. Thank you! Keti
