Mental Health Week is coming up October 9th - 15th and have a fundraising event called ‘WALK FOR ME’.
Walk for Me is a virtual fundraising challenge for Youth Focus.

Via “We are challenging all Western Australians to step up for youth mental health and su***de prevention by walking 15km, 24km or 49km throughout Mental Health Week (9 to 16 October) to raise vital funds to save young lives.

As most of you know, my gorgeous little boy Bodhi fractured his back just over a month today.
He has significant T3, T4, T5, T6 fractures with T4 being the worst, with a unusual small fracture at the base of the neck, as well as a syrinx in his spinal cord which they found in the MRI.
Infact today, is exactly a month from the day he was fitted with a Long Aspen brace (neck + back brace) - which remains on for 12wks 24/7.
It’s also the day we came home from our hospital holiday!
I wanted to reach out + say THANK YOU for all the incredible support, messages, visits, flowers, gifts received. I was inundated with DMs on here when I posted a story update + I honestly was overwhelmed with the support + love. I’m so sorry to those who I haven’t got back to yet - I cherish + adore you, so please know that your support is felt! ###
As a mother this is one of the most frightening things I have been through to date. The thought of what could’ve been after the fractures were initially missed (+ Bodhi sent home!) on the first x-ray plagues me too. It’s been emotionally exhausting both mentally + physically for Bodhi + I, (for my amazing mum too) + I’m not the one who has a fractured back + who has to wear a brace!
Bodhi has been exceptionally incredible considering he is such an active kid, + is pretty much housebound with not being allowed to run/play or even sit on the floor. He must sit in a chair when sitting at all times.
Apart from a few coffee runs to , 3 couple meetings + Wedding Open Day - I have been housebound with my 6yr Bodhi looking after him. A different kind of lockdown you might say - of course there is no where else I’d rather be. There is nothing worse than seeing
your child in pain or not being able to be their energetic self.
TV, lego, Art, Drawing, board games have been life at our place.
It’s been a difficult transition at times but we have found our groove + new normal for the months ahead. There will be no sport until after summer either - except swimming which will be part of rehab anyway.
We have a follow up MRI today to check on the healing of fractures/syrinx.

With many of my couples having bulk family overseas and having to postpone (in many cases twice and three times 😢) this year was always going to be extra tough, on myself and my couples.

This is a little snippet of Mr Smiths vows from last weekend...
Let me tell you, when I received these vows via email from - I was a babbling mess, sitting at my computer “alllll byyy myseeeelllf” (😆😭) reading the heartfelt, beautiful, raw, honest and funny words he had written for his bride to be .smith_______ .
I always feel like I’m in on this very special and personal secret when couples choose to write their own vows and save them as a surprise for one another on their wedding day.
I can’t wait to see their reactions when they hear each other’s vows.
Anyway, Nate hit it out of the ball park, by simply writing and speaking from his heart to his ever so beautiful bride.
I had my tongue firmly on the roof of mouth keeping myself from getting dust in my eyes on the day, and many a guest most certainly DID have dust in their eyes...as did Jess as she listened openly with her heart to the vows her man had written for her.
Definitely a highlight during the ceremony!

We had a “whale of a time” right from the very first meeting aka the celebrant date 03.11.2019 ❤️
I feel utterly blessed to have crossed paths with you guys K + S, and being the lucky celebrant you chose to marry you!

You were one of many of my couples having to change wedding dates due to a global pandemic, and remained positive, calm and happy throughout the process....then when it came to be your wedding day, boy was it a wonderful celebration of two people VERY much in love.

The timeless songs of ‘The Beatles’.
The Beatles make a regular appearance on my playlist at home.
Love them.
Many of their songs have been chosen by my couples as song choices for their wedding ceremony music. Even incorporated into their vows, or as readings into the ceremony.
A personal favourite was when my ever so gorgeous couple Sunny + walked back down the isle at the end of their ceremony (‘The Recessional’ or as I like to call it, “Your big banger at the end to walk back down the isle to! This is the song that is going to continue the flow/set the tone from your ceremony into the celebrations of your reception!!) to ‘Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da’ - it was the best!!
The words are, happy, cute, fun, apt, glorious and more!!!)
