The Paddle Steamer Decoy & Grandstand Agency present; an afternoon cruise on the Swan River, featuring live music from Joe Boshell.
Hailing from England, Joe is an award winning singer & guitarist who performs a huge variety of music from 50’s to present day including songs from The Beatles to Ed Sheeran. In fact he is well known as fronting tribute shows such as 'This Is Robbie (Robbie Williams Tribute) and Sheeran Out Loud (Ed Sheeran Tribute Show).
Joe’s highly rhythmical guitar playing and dynamic voice pairs perfectly with modern loops and other effects pedals, creating a much bigger sound than a typical solo act. Joe Boshell has performed all around the world including Thomson Hotel Residencies around Europe and Africa. A tour in New Zealand and many shows in QLD, NT, VIC and SA. He has also played prestigious events in the UK, including the F1 Grand Prix in Silverstone, Ricoh Arena – Coventry, Lords Golf Club, MK Stadium, Leeds Castle and many more.

Returning for a second time this year to the Paddle Steamer Decoy is the best jazz quartet in Perth, the Swan River Ramblers. On Sunday the 7th April 2024 they will perform a wide variety of jazz classics, drawing repertoire from trad jazz, swing, blues, gypsy jazz, New Orleans style and more.
You can expect to hear music from greats such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt, Sidney Bechet and George Gershwin as well as an eclectic mix of contemporary tunes. Led by bass-player Pete Jeans, the SRR collective features a variety of talented Perth musicians, combining a wealth of performance experience, with instrumental virtuosity and a keen sense of spontaneity.
The Swan River Ramblers will feature Adam Hall (Trumpet / vocals), Ray Walker (Banjo), Lachie Glover (Tenor Sax) and Pete Jeavons (Double Bass).

Jessie is a very sun-shy Perth red-headed jazz singer who enjoys swing music, dancing in her kitchen to Otis Redding, eating cheese at any given opportunity and singing in the shower and every other (shaded) venue. Her main musical passions are jazz, blues and roots music. She started singing professionally at the age of 15 and has fronted big bands, jazz duos and every sized band in-between. She has toured Australia, America, South East Asia, Germany, France, Spain, Poland and the UK. She is also a 20 time Fringe World Music and Cabaret Award winner.
She has also recorded nine albums, including one with Mark Turner (Best Friends 2019), an original album (A Work of Friction 2018), two intercontinental albums entitled Berlin Nights (2017) and Unknowable Journey (2020) with Berlin band Ginger Blues, the latter of which won the German Blues Award for 2020, and most recently the eponymous Sassafras (2021).

Perth, Western Australia is an underrated city. I grew up in the working class suburb of Coolbellup where there were lots of cars tearing up the bitumen and a few burnt out wrecks on unwatered lawns. "Coobie" is an up and coming suburb now, like much of Perth. It's matured. Like a good red wine, it improves with age (some areas might be a little corked but that's part of the charm). The Swan River makes Perth a beautiful city. I remember balmy nights dragging a prawn net around in it, never wanting to be the one on the deep end! Good memories for me, but not for the prawns!
