The garden is finally producing food after a very slow growing time through summer. So nice to wander through the gardens and forage for food that is spray free and eaten the day it is picked

Pie Creek Studio and Farm shared a post on Instagram: "I still love seeing the wallabies and kangaroos in our backyard. I don't always have my phone on me to capture them, but here's a few different encounters over the past weeks. I mainly see them in the early morning when I'm sitting on the deck h...

This one is so special. I grew it from seeds purchased from .hills.farm and its just lovely. This is the second flower. The first flower was facing down a little, but this one is positioned better. The petals wrap around the back. I will definitely keep this and grow it again next year. For my friends who don't know about dahlias, seeds may not look the same as their parent. Dahlias have multiple genetic combinations that can result in dud flowers. It's kind of like a lucky dip for grown ups, you never know what you will get until they start flowering.

We spent 2 nights away from our little farm while we visited family. Our hearts are full, and we loved seeing everyone and being together, but there is no place like home... and being back in the garden.

Early morning sounds of cicadas doing their thing. I'm planting the last of my dahlia seeds this morning and this is the view from where I am working. Perfection in Pie Creek!

This little possum has been here since we moved in. We often hear it clamouring around the roof in the middle of the night. We have never seen him so close during the day. I could hear him on the roof of the verandah, then he jumped onto the guava tree and that's when he spotted me. He/she has the cutest face... but its not so cute being woken up by therm!
Do you have any possums living with you?

I was nervous and thrilled to be making a floral display for my neice's wedding to her soul mate Paul. It was tricky as due to so much rain the flowers weren't at their best. I picked the flowers in the rain early on Friday and then created the 2 floral pieces that night. Then it was an early morning trip to Ipswich for the installation and then later in the day, the wedding. So happy to be there to watch these 2 make a formal commitment to each other. I was so pleased with the end result, looking forward to my next wedding now.

My wonderful mum turns 80 this week and to celebrate I made her this cake. It was 4 layers with a choc brownie base and choc mud cake with choc mouse and a strawberry curd between the layers. The icing was an Ermine butter cream. The whole cake was vegan except the macaroons (which I purchased). It tastes amazing and was enjoyed by everyone. Happy Birthday to my gorgeous mum!

flowers grown by me (except the pink roses!).

Happiness is a garden full of ranunculus in bloom. Being in the garden really is my happy place. Next year we plan to double the number of ranunculus we will be planting. I'm heading to the Cleveland Markets on Sunday and these ranunculus will be the stars of the display.

I only purchased 3 bare-root roses, so the first bloom is very exciting. There are many buds coming through. I've never had roses in my garden so this is all new to me, but then so are all the other flowers. I started growing flowers just one year ago but I am officially hooked.
