Huge love and gratitude to all that came out to support Soundbox: BEAT STREET - DNB CHARITY FESTIVAL in Namba on Saturday!

Big ups to Tobias for plonking us in the middle of Namba to be our authentic selves. All the selectors slayed it and the tunes were fire all day and night!

Thank you so much to all the crew that came and helped. The box lifters, the carpark gardeners, the lighting, the decor, Rob McDonald aka Herbrobert for the amazing stage mural, https://www.facebook.com/nikola.morris for the projector tree climb... Massive love if you helped in anyway to the HEX stage.

We had a ball and if they let us then we'll be back for more some time!!

Following our last amazing session in NZ alongside the Reggae Rodeo, Uplifting Sound System is embarking on a journey back to the East Coast. On Saturday July 13th get ready to immerse yourself in the rich culture of reggae sound systems. Experience the soul-stirring music of iconic artists such as Burning Spear, Dennis Brown, U-Roy, and Vivian Jones played through two meticulously crafted sound systems. We will be playing alongside the mighty Champion Sound from Brisbane, who bring their extensive selection of tunes spanning decades. This event will be a captivating showcase of two hand-built sound systems delivering the authentic roots music experience and upholding the timeless traditions of sound system culture.

Last Sunday, May 19th, our Brother Lindsay Rin Rin Cornell died in a tractor accident.

Lindsay was with close friends at the time, celebrating life, whilst helping others - three things that he's so well known and loved for.

Lindsay wasn’t just a dear friend or crew, he's also a pivotal part of our operation and a brother that we can rely on in any situation.

This community is shaken to the core at the loss of such a loved, respected, charming, capable, funky, solid, strong and loyal brother.

It’s an understatement to say that Lindsay will forever be in our thoughts and our hearts. Our energy and love is with Lindsay’s family and every soul that he has touched during his extraordinary life.

Lindsay's funeral will be held at Tweed Valley Crematorium at 11am on Friday 31st May followed by a wake at the Ivory Waterside in Tweed Heads from 1pm.

Fly High Brother. We Love You 🤎🧡💛🤍

It’s time for some transparency - let’s make ourselves vulnerable for a moment!

Over the first half of this year we’ve been working towards a large HEX upgrade, a big build.

There is a huge amount of work that goes into communication, design, sourcing and assembly of all the pieces of the jigsaw, not to mention a very large financial outlay and the compromising of family commitments.

Our aim - to add in six Paraflex Type O double 18” subwoofers and four more Paraflex C3D kick bins to the existing rig.

We have been put through our paces on this one with numerous set backs, faulty components, sub standard timber, thousands of kms traveled and hundreds of hours on machines and endless late nights and early mornings. Not to mention completely starting again 3 weeks out from Earth Frequency for reasons out of our control.

We wanted the subs ready for Earth Frequency Festival and did get them built in time only to encounter another hurdle.

It’s been a roller coaster. I personally would like to publicly show my appreciation to Ritchie Rustler - the brains behind our sound and our builds.

He is going hell for leather right now for this one!!!

We really hope to get this over the line and show off these new cabinets tomorrow and we think we will. It will be the first time in the world this paraflex combo has been heard. And we want you to witness!!!

We would LOVE for you ALL to come and experience what is truly going to be a MASSIVE sound and a MASSIVE night alongside Inner West Reggae Disco Machine and Submerge System.

We do this because we love it. But we could not do it without you. So if there ever was a night to travel that extra mile in support of Sound System culture then this weekend SUB UNITY - Sound System Gathering in Byron Bay is the one.

Last minute preparations happening at HEX HQ as we amalgamate the HEX Sound System in to the new BOOMBOX stage at Earth Frequency Festival in a few days time. Working round the clock this end to bring you an epic audio and visual experience like never before! Huge appreciation to Paul Abad for getting us involved. With mapping from Imri Shavit on a stage design by Fulcrum Designs and Staging, housing takeover from Island Vibe Festival Renegade Playground The Wonky Queenslander The Sanctuary. Come gather.
