After you have completed the Notice of Intended Marriage and lodged it with your celebrant - your celebrant witnesses you signing. In a month, and up to 18 months you can marry. Woo hoo!
Sometimes it might not be as straightforward as meeting with your celebrant, as you are in another state city, or country. No problem.
The NOIM must be signed in the presence of an authorised witness.
In Australia, authorised celebrant, a justice of the peace, a barrister or solicitor, a medical practitioner, or a member of the Australian Federal Police or the police force of a state or territory.
International signing an Australian Consular Officer, an Australian Diplomatic Office, a notary public, an employee of the Australian Trade Commission (under paragraph 3 (d) of the Consular Fees Act 1955.
Your one-month notice starts when completed, signed, and witnessed is lodged with your celebrant. You can lodge your NOIM in person or via email.

In Australia, marriage is regulated by the Marriage Act 1961, which sets out the process for getting married and the legal requirements of a valid marriage.
1. Complete a Notice of Intended Marriage form with your chosen Celebrant at least one month (and up to 18 months) before the wedding.
2. Both parties must provide your celebrant with evidence of your date and place of birth, identity, and the end of any previous marriages.
3. Both must sign the "Declaration of no legal impediment to marriage". By signing the Declaration, you are declaring that you believe that you are of marriage age and that there is no legal impediment to your marriage.
4. On your wedding day, your celebrant will solemnise your marriage. Your celebrant will then ask you, your partner, and your witnesses to sign up to three marriage certificates.
5. After your wedding, your authorised marriage celebrant will register the marriage with the Registry of Births, Deaths, and Marriages in the State or Territory where your marriage took place.

Tornado, Flooding, and no power for 14 days and we survived. Lots of love and support to my neighbours and friends who are still working to restore their homes.
Tamborine Mountain Community spirit saw us come together and love and support each other.
Businesses are back up and welcoming locals and tourists alike.
The wedding business is also happening - it is booking season!

Yesterday at Albert River Wines found us in the cute shearing shed for our wedding ceremony.
The only bleak thing was the overcast and rainy weather.
Callum and Caitlyn’s quirky sense of humour created a familiar feel of love and giggles as they married.
Black and white was the theme for the guests with Caitlyn in a stunning red gown and Callum in grey.

I love flowers fresh, dried, silk! All make me pause and admire them and snap a photo to gaze at a later date.

In Ancient Rome bouquets or garlands were carried or worn to signify new beginnings, fidelity and hope of fertility
The Middle Ages strong smelling herbs and spices were thought to drive away evil spirits, bad luck, ill health. Dill was especially popular, being the herb of lust 🙊

Hi there, my name is Kim Burgess.
I have been part of the wedding industry for over 30 years. My love for weddings grew from the time I started as a Make-Up Artist, followed by many years as the owner of two award-winning Beauty Salons. Along with creating beautiful looks on the day, I spent time prepping faces and bodies for the Brides and Grooms big day.
I now live on the amazing Tamborine Mountain and continue in the wedding industry as a Marriage Celebrant – my passion. I love the opportunity to meet with fabulous couples, who are in love and want to create a future together.
I believe it to be my role to create the look and feel that you dream of for your Wedding Ceremony. It is Your Day – Your Way!
My experience, my passion for love for people, is what drives me to create individual ceremonies for each of my couples that will forever bring happy memories. I am often described as bubbly, and I do enjoy a good laugh. I am down to earth, and gather people into my world, simply because I am a people person. Nurturing and caring comes naturally to me and this helps me to look after you both during your Ceremony. You will feel confident that even if your nerves kick in on the day (and they will), or you fluff your vows – I’ve got you! Even Celebrants feel nervous sometimes - on my wedding day I said the wrong name when reciting my wedding vows!!
I am now into my 6th year as a Marriage Celebrant with more than 200 weddings in my portfolio, I believe I could be the Celebrant you are looking for.
I think it is fabulous that many of the couples I have married, have come back to me to name their children, or create a vow renewal ceremony for them to celebrate a special anniversary.
