Now for something completely different....!

While 90% of our couples choose to have their ceremony in our intimate Fig Tree Cathedral, we have various other ceremony locations on site, including this one on our large open field.
This location has the house and garden as the backdrop and also overlooks the bay and Meridian Park.
It is perfect for larger weddings or for people who want to have a feeling of open space for their ceremony.
The choice is yours!

Tanilba has a huge array of outdoor settings to choose from for photos, but when the weather turns ugly there are also various indoor options too!

Here is Kelly and Mark on their day (plus their crew) making the most of our parlour. The fun and joy of the day is obvious!

A different view of our beautiful spot at twilight! Being on the tip of the peninsula means breath-taking views right as the sun goes down over the water! (Also did we mention our fairy lights?) ✨

Night-time Wedding Magic!

Yesterday Yolandi and Staczek got married! πŸ’‘

They had such magical table styling for their intimate wedding for 32 guests, all put together by Yolandi's aunt and her helpers. Coupled with our many fairy lights it was truly breath-taking, so just had to share!

These shots were just taken on Glenn's phone so you can imagine what edited images might look like taken on a high end camera!

So stunning 😍πŸ₯°πŸ’‘

Congratulations to you both :)

Holy moly!!
On Tuesday night we were delighted (and extremely surprised!!) to receive the Port Stephens Small Business Outstanding Wedding Venue Award!

We were absolutely thrilled (but also a little sad that we didn't attend the award ceremony. We were quite convinced that had no chance of winning and as we have had an extremely hectic couple of months we stayed home and ate fish and salad instead...lol)

Thanks to those of you who let us know we had won on the night (quite right, we should have been there...) And of course to everyone who voted for us! We are truly and eternally grateful for your support.

As I always say, weddings are a team sport (contender for the olympics perhaps??) and every wedding requires a team of dedicated, passionate and amazing staff and vendors to come together to pull off the best wedding possible for each and every couple. To our amazing vendors and staff, we salute you!!

We also love that more and more people are able to see and appreciate this little piece of heaven we call home here on the Tilligerry Peninsula :)

Thank you!!!

Historic Tanilba House Circa 1831

Built by convicts for Lieutenant William Caswell who received a land grant of 50 acres in 1831, the historic home still stands today offering scenic vistas of Port Stephens over Meridian Park. Its is state and local heritage listed.

Originally constructed as a family home, Tanilba House is constructed of half-metre-thick stone walls. There are 6 bedrooms including the 2 bedroom maids quarters, a fishermans cottage, a heritage listed stone pergola, a gaol and various other outbuildings. Many of the original features are still in place.

The house has extensive stone work which was added around the 1920’s by Henry Halloran. This includes the large circular driveway, the garden walls, the pergola, extensions to the verandah, the various stone entrance columns - and of course the stunning Temple of the Stork. Halloran also built both the water and entrance gates for Tanilba Bay and planted the pine tree entrance along Avenue of the Allies. He had grand plans for the suburb!
