Pre-ceremony check-in with Carlee to have a quick hug, sign the papers, share a few laughs, and decide which wedding shoes she should wear!! (true story) 😆⁠

One of the important legal aspects of your wedding is signing the "Declaration of no legal impediment to marriage." It must be signed before the ceremony begins.⁠
⁠
And to confirm your consent to the marriage, you must must sign it privately, i.e. not in the presence of your husband-to-be or wife-to-be. Confusing? This is why I take care of the legalities! And I'm a stickler for the rules, so I'll always be on top of things 😉⁠

You sign the Declaration to declare that the information you've provided is true and correct on your Notice of Intended Marriage form — that's the initial form you must submit at least one month before your wedding, and no earlier than 18 months before.⁠
⁠
In a nutshell, you're signing the Declaration to say you're free to be married — you're not married to anyone else, you're not already married to each other, you're not closely related, you're of marriage age, and you are who you say you are! 💥⁠

Think... confetti exits, aisle songs (Can't Help Falling In Love, A Thousand Years and Perfect before then), seated wedding parties, vow cards, champagne towers, aisle exit 'dips', and yes, wedding party outfits! 🎉⁠

One of the best days of my celebrant career 🤍 What an honour it was to have Chris & Teigan choose me to be their celebrant in a sea of celebrants.⁠
⁠
I've known Chris for more than 10 years. We've worked together at many weddings, bringing the wedding dreams of other couples to life. We've also experienced highs and lows, and have lifted each up when we needed it.⁠
⁠
When Chris told me he'd met someone, I could see the glint in his eye. I was even more excited for him when I met Teigan separately at another wedding, and we got along like old friends. I knew then that he'd found his person.⁠
⁠
Chris & Teigan's wedding was exceptional but also damn nerve-wracking. The pressure is on when you're surrounded by your wedding industry colleagues —Michael Vos Music Shane Vincent Celebrant, Ivy & Bleu Events — and 80+ guests, all the while standing up on a glistening white platform and squished into a teeny space. There's no room for error and absolutely nowhere to hide!⁠

This small moment in your ceremony is more than just signing a piece of paper to make it 'official'!
⁠
We can get through the actual signing super quick, but then I don't want you to rush the chance to soak in the love. To look at each other realising you just said your vows. Look out and see your guests, take in the music, and take a private look at your wedding rings. Debrief about what just happened, and breathe again before the walk back down the aisle.⁠

After you've signed those papers, I'll let you know how to get the best photos, and most importantly, enjoy the moment.⁠

What's your flavour? Truth: as a child, in fact, until a few years ago, I never really liked ice cream. Sure, I'd eat it if it was there, but it wasn't my dessert of choice. Not even a last choice (Erin, I can hear your voice ringing in my ear. Nooooooo 😅)

This all changed when I moved in with my sister during COVID, and we'd sit on the lounge, flicking through the streaming services as she put bowls of ice cream in front of me.⁠

These days, I quite like to dig into my own tub! Especially at night when the house is quiet, and no one's watching as I'm trying to find the syrup in those chocolate swirls! 😆⁠

And can we please call our wedding besties our wedding party (and not our bridal party!). Bridesmaids are no longer 'maids'. The honour of being the 'Matron of Honour' isn't as relevant as it once was. And any guy or gal chosen to provide wedding day support is the best man or the best woman.⁠

At the moment, I'm seeing either huge wedding parties or no wedding party at all. It's an all or nothing time!⁠

Apparently, I was in London doing a little sneaky shopping 🤷‍♀️ I probably was shopping 😅 but I definitely wasn't in London! 🙄
