Back behind the camera for year two of the Darling Downs Heavy Horse Festival in Allora, capturing the spirit of the event for the committee + stakeholders, and after sifting through the thousands of images, this moment might just be my fave!

Two beauties from Duneske Clydesdales in Saturday’s arvo light. The best of friends. Magnificently presented. Just casually being fabulous.

High five to everyone who had a hand in bringing the Festival to life. Your work in preserving the nation’s heritage, equine history and elevating the best little town on The Downs makes a difference.

CALL FOR EOI // 🍇🐄🥗 Are you active in the agri-tourism sector? Council is inviting expressions of interest from local businesses to participate in the Southern Downs Seasonal Menu project.

Seasonal Menu will connect Southern Downs Food Producers with chefs, restaurants and consumers that value local, flavoursome and thoughtfully produced products.

Through an interactive website Southern Downs businesses will be able to learn about upcoming opportunities in agri-tourism, register to attend workshops and events and, join the "Gate to Plate' program designed to showcase our locally grown produce.

This project/event is receiving funding through the Regional Tourism Bushfire Recovery grants program, an Australian Government bushfire recovery initiative.

I'm happiest camera-in-hand, capturing moments that tell a story. It's my jam. I've been at the journo-gig for a while now.

The people I get to meet. The time I get to spend with them. The moments my camera captures. It all comes together to create connections. And goodness knows, we need more of that these days.

For the last few weeks, thanks to what I call 'work', I've been lucky enough to spend a bit of time with a man called Mick Bradford. You'll spot him in the below line-up of stellar images featured by ABC Landline.

Mick is 88 years-young. Can still drive a wagon. Works a camera like a boss. And is one of the best blokes I've been lucky enough to share time and trade stories with.

This is a shout-out for the peeps who love regional events as much as I do! And it's long, so stay with me...

We've done it tough in the events-landscape in the last couple of years, but 2021 gave us hope and reminded us we do put on a good show here in the bush, and that our locals, neighbours & city cousins, genuinely love a regional event.
