Well, today was the day.
The last wedding.
It was perfect, it was beautiful.
I was lucky enough for it to be someone I knew and people who deserve every happiness in the world. 💜💙💛💚🧡🩷
Its been fun, gosh its been fun, and so, so, so rewarding.
There is no doubt I will miss these days, but I have so many beautiful memories to keep.
I will leave my page up so I can share my hair shave with you.
But otherwise....
Thank you, all, so, so, so much, for letting me share in your special days, they have been special for me too. 🥰

To all the wonderful people who have shared this ride with me....
I AM RETIRING
But first I want to share one more thing with you (Please read to the end).
I began this journey over 18 years ago, when my brother's fiance was diagnosed with Leukeamia.
Their wedding plans and whole future was thrown into the air.
At this point I decided to become a celebrant so that I could be there when the time was right for them. It wasnt quite that simple but i completed my training and registration anyway.
When my sister in law passed away in 2006, I promised myself that because she set me on this path, when it ended I would shave my head for leukemia, just like her.
This time has now come and its time to put some money where my mouth is.
I have enjoyed (almost) every minute of this journey and I have so many wonderful memories, and a great appreciation for the constant reminder of how beautiful love can be, but my sister in law has always been in my thoughts on these days.
So, whilst I will not lie, I am dead scared of what this noggin looks like underneath all my hair, I will be doing the Greatest Shave on Saturday October 19th and would love it if those who can spare a few $$ could get behind me.
I have really high hopes for what we can raise and thank you all for the memories over the years, feel free to join me on one last journey together!

In my job, I meet so many truly wonderful people and then there's the ones that are extra special who you wish your could wrap yourself around and protect their beautiful spirits from ever being broken because they are just so lovely. Emalee & Graham what a beautiful future awaits!

Last, but certainly, not least.
Candace & Stephen.
You two had the horror, ever changing, covid restrictions.
You bent and back flipped with each change.
You heartbreakingly had to accept that your closest family from overseas could not attend.
Luckily, you got a nearly perfect day.
Your son read the most beautiful reading at the ceremony.
Your venue was incredibly accommodating and lovely and you had a great day regardless of all else.
Im so glad you still got to marry even if in less than ideal circumstances.

Nick & Jacqui, or Jack & Nicky as I'd prefer 😜. Exhaustion caught up with you the day before the wedding, Nick was an absolute trooper in the set up and Jacqui you did amazingly to not let it ruin your big day. Everything including you, looked perfect.
Proof that sometimes that leap of faith pays off ten fold.

Its probably pretty obvious Ive been slack about putting up this season photos, Im old school so it requires me actually taking a card out of my camera and putting it in my computer, then, I cant help but tweak! But seeing as Ive been locked up for weeks now I had no further excuses not to get it done and I have to admit, its given me a warm fuzzy feeling to remember each one all over again.....sooo...here we go....

Starting with Hayley & Kym, my god, THE.MOST.ORGANISED.PEOPLE I have EVER MET! And calm all the while with kids running around them! You two deserve the biggest reward and I can see that reward is each other!

Today is mine and my husbands 10th wedding anniversary and I'd be lying if I said everyday has been smooth sailing. There have definitely been days when I didnt believe we would make it and days when everything feels like it is mean to be. Luckily for us, underneath all the layers of life our original feelings for each other still exist.
Were also both lucky that me being a marriage celebrant and watching all you guys on your happiest day re-affirms my belief in our marriage EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Marriage absolutely should first and foremost be about the good times but sometimes its about the not so good and unfortunately we all have those.
Sometimes its involves work and luckily for me (most of the time) my husband is willing to accept that sometimes we have to work at things.
Fingers crossed for ten more, I dont know what the next ten has in store but all we can do is strap in for the ride.

Im not sure what weight I put on awards, I love when people ring me because theyve seen me at another wedding, but I guess when people are in the complete unknown this sort of thing can help. Nominating people for these sorts of things is a very personal thing but if any of my clients want to get involved..go for it!

Nearly three years ago a groom contacted me about helping put in place a notice if intended marriage for him and his fiance who was overseas and needed this paperwork in place to assist with her Visa application.
I was more than happy to help and could tell he was so absolutely grateful that I was able to help.

What was disappointing was the number of celebrant prior to me who had told him it was too involved or it would come with an extra fee, when the reality is, its not a great deal more work from the celebrant, its the couple trying desperately to tick all the boxes.

These guys had already sustained a long distance relationship in different countries for five years, I didnt at all doubt their commitment, no one in their right mind would want to jump through all the hoops these guys have if they weren't serious.

Todays ceremony was as simple as they come because for these guys, they have already put so much of their time and money into being together, throwing more of both of those things at a ceremony wasnt necessary.

I could honestly see the relief on their faces that they have jumped one more hurdle in their way of spending forever together. So glad fate picked me to be there today.

You dont get to choose who you fall in love with and sometimes...they come from a completely different continent.
