A place where users, inhabitants and stakeholders in the Brussels Northern Quarter can meet and exchange. 1.5 was set up by LabNorth, a network of organisations that compiles knowledge and reflects on the urban transformation of the neighbourhood.

integration of vulnerable populations. Be.Face offers its member companies activities in which their employees can get individually and personally involved, and be in direct contact

🚴‍♀️ 🚴 🚴‍♂️ BXL Node, a network of 252km of cycling routes, was launched in 1.5.

"In Flanders, the system of cycling junctions has existed for 25 years," says De Lestré. "But that was not yet the case here. On the map of the cycling junctions, Brussels was an empty space. Anyone who wanted to cycle from Flemish Brabant to Wallonia was sent around the city". In order to fill this gap, De Lestré joined forces with Pascal Brackman of RouteYou, a company specialising in creating road routes for private individuals. Meanwhile, the project also receives support from the Fietsersbond, VZW Cactus and VZW 1.5.

Today we officially opened 1.5! 🍾 🟧

“1.5” is a place open to users, inhabitants and others involved in the Brussels Northern Quarterto meet and exchange. The space of 500 m² wants to serve as a connecting, meeting space for all these different users and at the same time incubate urban functions that are currently missing in this area.

La Communauté .network, actuellement située au 4ème étage du bâtiment du CCN, programmera l'espace pour discuter de manière ouverte de la transformation urbaine et des dynamiques existantes du quartier. Mais le 1.5 est aussi à la disposition des associations locales pour une réunion de quartier, des entreprises pour organiser un atelier d'innovation, des habitants du quartier Nord, d'une danse pour les enfants après l'école et de diverses associations qui veulent contribuer via une activité.

"We zijn getuige van boeiende tijden in de Brusselse Noordwijk. Het mislukte megalomane experiment van de jaren zestig zal de komende jaren veranderen in een multifunctionele, toekomstgerichte wijk. We gaan van deze saaie monofunctionele wijk een levendig en veelzijdig deel van de stad maken, waar multifunctionele gebouwen in een stadspark zijn gesitueerd. De nieuwe stedelijke ontmoetingsruimte 1.5, geïnitieerd door Up4North, zal een enorme impuls geven aan deze dynamiek. Daarom ben ik erg blij met dit project", zegt , Staatssecretaris voor Stedenbouw van het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest.

1.5 is a temporary project. From September 2020 till July 2021 1.5 is going to experiment with temporary occupation and different event types. From cultural events to academic functions and business events to neighborhood meetings; 1.5 wants to uplift the Northern Quarter trough experiment.

1.5 Provides different settings for dialogue - a meeting room, a sand pit, a workroom, a cabane and a coffee corner - are at your disposal to organise small events, workshops or meetings for up to 30 people in a covid19-safe environment.

Welkom bij 1.5. Een nieuwe ruimte waar al de spelers uit de Brusselse Noordwijk elkaar kunnen ontmoeten. Bedrijven, burgers, jongeren en buurtverenigingen, iedereen is welkom om er ideeën uit te wisselen en zelf aan de slag te gaan.
1.5 creëert een open dialoog rond de stedelijke transformatie van de Noordwijk. Welke dynamieken vinden er vandaag plaats? Hoe moet / zal de wijk er in de toekomst uitzien?
