Spectra Event Group is hiring!

EVENT CREW
RATE OF PAY: $20-$24/hour (minimum 4-hour call)

Event Crew positions are part-time and on-call split shifts, with a minimum 4-hour call per shift. The focus of this role will be to provide assistance with delivery, set-up and strike of events. Shifts will also be available to provide additional support in the Warehouse.

Duties:
- Unload and load trucks of boxes, bins, objects, and furniture
- Use moving equipment such as rolling boards, dollies, pallet jacks etc.
- Assemble pipe and drape equipment such as base plates, upright beams and cross bars
- Carefully unpack and repack breakable materials and objects
- Match items to bins by reading warehouse labels
- Set up floor lighting and up-lights
- Set up and/or assemble other event décor and props
- Take direction from the event lead or supervise and assist other crew members
- Arrive on time prepared to being work immediately

Mandatory Requirements:
- Must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
- Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
-Travel up and down stairs unassisted, sometimes carrying objects
- Push, pull and otherwise move large, heavy items with use of moving equipment
- Stand for long periods of time
- Move in awkward, small, or restricted spaces
- Adequate transportation to and from event sites sometimes late at night when public transportation is unavailable

Assets:
- Design experience or related degree in design
- Previous event and/or stage crew experience
- Experience with professional draping

Rentals & Event Coordinator
Salary & Compensation- $21.00 - $25.00 Hourly
Spectra Event Group Inc. is seeking a result-driven Rentals & Event Coordinator to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Director of Business & Operations Development, this position supports the overall business growth and long term operations of the company.
This role is a permanent, full-time position, with growth opportunities. Hours of work are typically during the Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm work week, with occasional shifts outside this time frame based on events and clients’ schedules. Occasional travel within the province may be required.

The right candidate for this role will be a versatile chameleon and a pillar of support on the SPECTRA team.

You have a comprehensive understanding of budgeting and costs associated with projects. You are able to suggest ideas and solutions to achieve client goals while working with both internal and external service providers.

You can easily pivot between tasks to complete the day-to-day work while staying focused on the bigger picture and have a comprehensive understanding of how to prioritize your tasks to meet deadlines to accomplish both short and long-term goals.
Prior experience in the event, film or production industries is an asset in tackling a steep learning curve, as this role supports both the high-level business needs and also advises the team on micro-decisions directly related to the event design services SPECTRA prides itself on.

Responsibilities
● Responding to rental inquiries in a timely, effective and proactive manner
● Offers exemplary customer service, including maintaining customer relationships and
ensuring customer retention by upselling products and services
● Performs office administrative tasks relating to rental contracts
● Provide administrative and project support to the events and rental departments as
required
● Answering phones and directing calls to appropriate parties
● Updating the rental catalog on the website as needed
● Develop working knowledge of industry standards and practices, including product details
and company services offered
● Monitor customer feedback and work to enhance client experience
● Regularly audit work and customer service to ensure that company standards are being
adhered to
● Oversee team members to ensure proper order preparation, order management and onsite
logistics including delivery and pick ups are being carried out as necessary
● Work with the Inventory Specialist to ensure that the inventory is kept up to date and that
repairs/refurbishments are carried out in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
● Detail oriented, excellent organizational and time-management skills are required to be successful in this role
● Outstanding customer service skills
● Strong oral and written communication skills
● Able to prioritize and manage a busy workload with accuracy
● Provides support, leadership and guidance to warehouse and logistics team
● Have strong administrative skills: create estimates and invoices, proficient with email and
phone correspondence
● Self-starter and works well in a team environment.
● Thrives in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines.
● Comfortable with computers; knowledge of google suite is an asset.
● Flexibility, the ability to problem-solve, and a sense of humor a must
● Ability to lift 40 lbs
● Minimum of two years’ experience in the customer service/retail industry, preferably in the
rental industry
Salary & Compensation
We determine compensation based on considerations such as industry benchmarks, experience and result-driven performance.
