Derek John Baker Justice of the Peace
My name is Derek John Baker and I am a Justice of the Peace authorized to perform marriages in the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. I have performed numerous ceremonies over the past 5 years from backyard, casual weddings and renewal of vows to formal weddings arranged by a wedding planner. I have performed these wedding for couples from various cultures, religions, races, and sexual orientation. I treat all of my couples with respect and tailor the ceremonies to their wishes.
I was formally an Officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force and Canadian Armed Forces flying fighter jets until my retirement. I then worked as a project manager in aerospace until I moved with my wife to Florida. In Florida, I worker in Real Estate while attending University for my degree in
Nursing. While working in Florida as a Registered Nurse (RN), I continued my education and received my executive Master of Business Administration. My wife and I returned to Nova Scotia about 20 years ago first to Pictou where we opened a Country Inn and then to Dartmouth where I continued to work as a RN.
