It takes a special personality to be a Wedding Planner. We love to joke about how being a Virgo paired with ADHD are key factors in my (Lauren) need for perfection and hyper fixation on the details.

While most think ADHD is a hindrance, but for me it is a super power that fuels my obsession on making sure everything is perfect.

✨ Two Truths + a Lie ✨

Now it's Shandi's turn! Comment below on which one you think is her lie:

1. I once had a caterer call the day before an event to let me know they were no longer able to do it. I had less than 24 hours to find a new caterer for 300 people.

2. I had a groom faint during the ceremony. When he fainted, he knocked over all the florals breaking the vases which left us without 3 centrepieces for the reception.

3. On the morning of a wedding, the venue was flooded with record-breaking rainfall. I had to move an entire wedding to a new location and transform the space within mere hours.

Let’s have a little fun - 2 Truths and a Lie: Wedding Planner edition. Can you tell which is the lie?

1. I accidentally spilled a tray of half empty wine glasses on a guest, who also happened to be wearing a white dress. The guest was so angry that she demanded that I trade outfits with her.

2. I once had a 5-tier wedding cake fall when being delivered to the wedding reception. The baker and I brought it into the kitchen, removed an entire tier, patched it up, and no one knew.

3. I planned a beautiful outdoor wedding where, when the flowers were brought out, the tent was swarmed with thousands of Japanese flying beetles that started eating $30,000 worth of flowers.

Every inch of this tent was carefully considered and designed alongside our Bride and her Mom to bring luxury outdoors! The result is still one of my favourites designs to date because some we created new concepts hadn’t been done before - and that’s always the best way to design!
